Chapter 9 Part I. Chapter 9 Part I (Smut Scene.) Chapter 9 Part 2.0 Chapter 9 Part 2.5 Kevin was in utter shock as he stood next to Kibum in the ticket line at the amusement park. Yes, he was at the amusement park with KIBUM. Better yet, they were ALONE. This little escapade had been quite sudden. It all happened right after Hyung Joon left. After they all said their goodbyes and waved, Kibum came up to Kevin with a slightly blank expression and asked the latter to go to the amusement part with him. Of course Kevin agreed to go with the elder. Now, here they were, walking silently and awkwardly into the park that Kibum worked at.
“Kevin,” the younger boy turned to glance at Kibum, “what games do you want to play?”
“Play?!” Kevin’s eyes and mood lit up immensely when Kibum nodded. “Let’s play that game!” Kevin pointed towards a game with plates and baseballs. Of course those things didn’t draw Kevin’s attention-it was the prizes. The game had decent size prizes: a giant Yoshi, Mario and Luigi, and some odd Pokémon; Kevin wanted the giant Yoshi. He saw Kibum shrug and followed the older one to the game stand. The woman there said all they had to do was break three plates the get one of the big prizes.
Kevin watched anxiously as Kibum bought three balls. When the first ball was thrown and a plate was broke, Kevin cheered. When the second ball was thrown and another plate shattered, Kevin started jumping for joy. And when the third ball was played and a plate broke, Kevin let his excitement take over by hugging Kibum and kissing the older on his cheek.
When the Yoshi was given to Kibum, he handed it over to an all-too-excited Kevin. “Now, just remember this doesn’t take the place of Mister Snowpie (Snow-pee).” Kibum was referring to the replacement teddy he bought for the younger one, and of course Kevin had named it.
Kevin nuzzled his face against the green dinosaur and giggled. “He won’t! I promise! But…” Kevin paused, “Yoshi is bigger than the bear. And I could cuddle him better…” He paused again. “Oh well! Mister Snowpie is fuzzier and softer.”
Kibum was quiet for a second until Kevin lowered Yoshi and looked at him. “So… Do you see another prize you want?”What a dumb question. Kibum played four more games, won the biggest prize for Kevin, and each time, he got a kiss on the cheek.
----------------------------
Kibum watched a silent Kevin stare out the ferris wheel window. Their evening, so far, had been very amusing. First, they played games and Kevin got the prizes-but HE got the kisses-, then, Kibum bought cotton candy and drinks. They had to sit down so Kibum could feed Kevin his cotton candy because of the prizes the younger boy was holding. Honestly, the whole thing was just too cute. With a sigh, he knew he had to admit that he owed his hyung. Yes, he could do that, but it would be hesitantly at first. There was another thing he hated to admit: he was most definitely in love with Kevin.
Maybe it was Kevin’s laugh or sensitive nature that drew Kibum to him; they do say opposites attract. It could be because Kevin was the only person he could think of that would apologize over and over again for something. The teddy-loving soul was too good to be true and Kibum couldn’t believe that he got lucky enough to get the younger one to say yes to coming with him.
“Hyung?”
Kibum shook his head and blinked his eyes before he saw Kevin looking nervously at him. “Did you say something, Kevin?”
The younger boy’s face tinted. “Y-Yeah. I…I said sorry.”
It only took Kibum a second to understand Kevin was still apologizing for lying to him. “Don’t sweat it. The past is the past and you can’t change it.”
Kevin lurched forward in his sitting position, “No! I shouldn’t have lied…at least not to you.”
Even though Kibum continued to say it was ‘Okay’, the latter wouldn’t let it go. With an even sigh, Kibum leaned forward and pressed his lips to Kevin’s, cutting off the boy’s sentence about best friends. It wasn’t a big deal and the kiss only lasted a few seconds before Kibum pulled back with a satisfied smile on his face.
“W-Why d-did yo-you do…do that?” Kevin’s face was a dark shade of red as he looked at Kibum questionably.
Kibum shrugged, “It was to shut you up.” He smiled when Kevin’s mouth opened a little in protest but closed again. “I said it was ok-” Kibum had leaned forward and put his weight on his knees as he spoke, and the moment he did that, Kevin’s lips were back on his. It was a moment before Kibum registered what was going on and melted into the boy’s kiss. With a sudden urge, he pulled the latter into his lap. They broke apart for a second, but was soon at it again with needy, passionate kisses.
The night ended nicely in Kibum’s opinion…even if he got stuck with holding all of the prizes except Yoshi. “Why are you the one holding Yoshi, Vinny?”
The blond only smiled and nuzzled the prize for the umpteenth time that night. Kibum would never understand this boy, but seriously, did he want to? He looked up at the night sky and smiled to himself as the smell of rain wafted through his senses.
It didn’t take long for them to return home. They were greeted by Alexander, Eli, and Kiseop, who all smiled and giggled with Kevin behind Kibum’s back. Oh great, they were a group of teenage girls, now. Kibum shook his head and went to his…room? “What the hell?” When he opened the door, he saw Dongho and Soohyun sitting on the floor, their things carelessly strewn everywhere-well, not THEIR things, but Dongho’s.
Dongho turned away from Soohyun and got on his knees. “Hyung! You’re back! How did it go with Kevin?”
“What’s…going on here?” Kibum narrowed his eyes skeptically and looked around. None of his things were to be found.
“Dongho and I took the liberty of taking your room. Alexander moved into mine, and we moved your things into Kevin’s.” Soohyun was so smug and proud of himself, it made Kibum yearn to bash the guy’s ego.
“Kevin’s room?” Knowing that he would be sharing a room with Kevin completely wiped out all thoughts of being angry that his things had been touched. With the Shins’ eyes boring into him, he closed the door and walked down the hall into Kevin’s room, where the boy was staring blankly at the items that had replaced Dongho’s.
Kevin turned his head and smiled at Kibum. “Are these your things, hyung?” When Kibum nodded, he swore Kevin’s face would break from the happiness that showed on it. “So we’re officially sharing a room now?”
“I guess so. Xander moved into Soohyun’s old room, and they took over mine, so it just leaves me being in here. With you.” Kibum was trying to hide his own excitement of sharing a room with Kevin, but wasn’t this all too soon? They JUST started talking again. It didn’t matter. He was happy with the arrangement.
It wasn’t long before he and Kevin talked themselves to exhaustion. They took their showers, changed into comfortable clothes-Kibum in boxers and nothing else-, and said their goodnights. As they crawled into their beds, Kibum didn’t miss the hushed rumble of thunder and pattering of rain on the bedroom window. It was silent and soothing until the sounds got louder and lightning shown through the curtains that Kevin pulled closed before they laid down.
Kibum was half asleep when he felt someone crawl into his bed, but the moment cold hands touch his bare chest, the body started to scoot away. “Kevin, what are you doing?” Kibum kept his voice low and smiled in the darkness when Kevin stopped moving.
“I-I’m scared…” The boy sounded so innocent and afraid. Kevin jumped and clung to Kibum when a loud sound of thunder rumbled through the house; his colds hands gave Kibum goose bumps.
Yawning, Kibum mumbled, “Then stay here tonight…” He wrapped an arm around Kevin and pulled the blond boy against his chest. Kevin’s damp hair tickled his bare skin and the smell of coconuts clouded his senses. Who knew coconuts could be intoxicating?
Soon, they fell asleep. The only time Kibum woke up was when Kevin whimpered and snuggled closer in his sleep. At that, Kibum had pulled the covers more securely around the boy’s small frame and held him close. Kibum was still amazed how far he and Kevin have come. Earlier that day, they weren’t even talking and now they’re in bed together. He chuckled, shook his head, and let sleep take him.
