I went shopping today at Target. I wanted to get some stuff like coasters and sticky note pads cuz I needed them. I also got pants, earphones, PediPaws, and a new book. Whenever I go shopping, I always go the book section cuz I love to read. I was browsing through the teen section when this book caught my eye. It's called WAKE by Lisa McMann.
I liked the cover and for a second I thought it was gonna be another vampire story -_- but thankfully it wasn't.
It's about a girl name Jaine who has the ability to go into people's dreams. Whenever someone dreams near her, she's pulled into their dreams. Some ask for help but she doesn't know how to help them. She just stands there, watching the dreams happen. There are some dreams that are intense and it leaves Jaine feeling weak and drained afterward. On a school trip, her classmate Cabel discovers her secret. At first he is freaked but soon decides to stick through and help Jaine understand her ability. It is the first of a trilogy.
The writing style is in present tense, which was weird since I was used to past tense. It shows the date and time of day of when something happens as well. (hoped I explained this right...-_-;;)
Anyway, I really liked this book, I was able to finish it in a couple of hours. Now I want to read the other books.
