Finally Finished Full House!

Feb 19, 2010 22:42

So last night, I just finished the Korean drama Full House after three days of watching it. And all I can say is FINALLY! That drama was sooo frustrating to watch!!

It starts out as Han Ji-Eun (main female lead) going to China b/c her friends told her she won a free trip. On the plane, she meets Lee Young-Jae (main male lead) a famous actor where they don't get off so well as she throws up on him and then falls asleep before apologizing. As Ji-Eun tries tries to enjoy her visit, she later realizes she doesn't have enough money for her hotel and is unable to reach her friends. She then finds out the famous actor is staying at the same hotel as her and tricks him into giving her money for the hotel and a ticket to return to Korea. When she does return, she finds out that all her belongings are gone, her house has been sold and her money in the bank stolen by her very own friends. It gets worse when she discovers that Young-Jae is the one who bought her house. They work out a deal where she cooks and cleans everyday so she can pay him back for the money she used and stay in her house.
But it becomes even more complicated when Young Jae's friends get involved. Hye-Won, who has been in love with Min-Hyuk is rejected by him and decides to study in New York. Young Jae, who doesn't want her to leave, tries to purpose to her but is rejected as well. After finding out about a celebrity party, Ji-Eun, in hopes to find someone who will read her story decides to go, despite Young-Jae's objections.  There she bonds with Min-Hyuk, unfortunately, Hye-Won watches them together and becomes jealous. After having a spat with Min-Hyuk, Hye-Won goes to Young-Jae and asks if he loves her or not. Young-Jae still feeling angry at her, says he likes only one person and then kisses Ji-Eun causing a huge scandal.
From there, both Young-Jae and Ji-Eun make up a contract to be married to each other for six months then divorce. All's well until they start to develop feelings for each other.

There are a lots of things that aggravates me in this drama.
First off is Hye-Won who is still upset about Min-Hyuk, starts to cling to Young-Jae and causes problems between Young-Jae and Ji-Eun. Young-Jae, who is indecisive about letting go his first love and states how he can't move on unless she lets him go first and Hye-Won uses this to her advantage. It is depressing watching a scene where Young-Jae chooses to go to Hye-Won and leaves Ji-Eun waiting outside the house all night. -_____-
Secondly are Ji-Eun's friends. They are so damn annoying, trying to be friends with Ji-Eun after stealing her money and selling her house. I cried in the second episode where she chases after them but then one of them fakes being in pain and Ji-Eun tries to find a taxi to take her the hospital, but is soon abandoned by them and she is left in the park to cry. Seriously, how can they do that her?  Then they find out about the contract and end up blabbing to other people about it, causing her even more troubles.
And third, Young-Jae's childish behavior toward Ji-Eun. There are cute scenes where he acts like a kid and she ends up comforting him but whenever she tries to have a serious discussion with him, he either laughs it off or yells at her, and ends up hurting her. This happens in almost every episode.
It takes him 15 episodes to admit he is in love with Ji-Eun and even tries to ask her to marry him again. The last episode was pretty funny as he is forced to become the maid this time and tries to purpose to her but is disturbed everytime. But after finally telling her he loves her, she kisses him and accepts.

I'm happy it had a cute ending for them and that I was able to finish it before quitting it. My friends told me it was a romantic comedy so I decided to watch it cuz My Girl was getting boring for me. But I'm confused how this is suppose to be a romantic comedy when it was just so depressing to watch. There were cute scenes every now and then but the drama in it was too much for me. I'm amazed that there are people who have seen this over 15 times and still love it. This was only my first time watching it and I thought it was alright. However, I won't be watching this again. >_>
