Okay, so the reasons to hate Sarah Palin just keep getting more and more numerous but this one really disgusts me and I hadn't heard of it before--and you can be sure it's not going to get mentioned on the campaign trail because it's not a "big issue". I think it's the perfect encapsulation of the kind of person she is. So I'm telling all of you about it--those of you that care can spread the word to others and those of you that don't can just...not.
Anyway. Apparently Palin is one of the country's biggest proponents of exterminating wolves and bears from airplanes. Despite many scientific and moral objections to her plans, she has:
* Proposed paying a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf.
* Approved a $400,000 state-funded propaganda campaign to promote aerial hunting.
* Introduced legislation to make it even easier to use aircraft to hunt wolves and bears.
Obviously this is not the only reason I hate Palin. The fact that she would set any sort of women's lib back about 20 or 30 years would be one, the fact that she's batshit right-wing crazy on all issues would be anohter, that she would destroy everything would be another, but that just makes me really physically ill.
