Korea Trip♥♥

May 22, 2013 14:35

Yay exams are over and we are going to Korea! The other 2 have been so excited over the itinerary for the past few months, having shopping lists. As for me, I was just trying to rub off their excitement and leeching off their shopping list haha.

Had booked tickets separately from Sita and luckily we managed to get onto the same flight J Fate! haha.  Due to us being broke, we chose to do transits and had to fly in the middle of the night. Managed to get the emergency exits seats though as we wanted to sit together. The leg space was so much difference! Couldn’t get to sleep though, probably it is too cold as I was sitting next to the window and the seats aren’t really comfortable. Drifted in and out throughout the whole flight of 5 hours. And we had to take a shuttle from the plane to the airport. My first time doing this haha, but Sita didn’t really liked it and it was super cold at that point of time.

Because of the cheapo flight that we took, we had to wait for close to 7 hours at Shanghai airport. There was nothing to do there, and we couldn’t get the free wifi at that point of time and the things there were so expensive (what can you expect at an airport?) So we were literally sitting there and stoning for the whole time, trying to fall asleep (too uncomfortable) and playing games to pass time.

With nothing to do~
On the next flight, I was very high from the lack of sleep for the whole night, and I was thinking finally I’m excited for the trip haha. Met Anna at Incheon Airport (she flew SQ so good) and set off to our hostel. Took the express train from the airport to the Seoul station and on the way we saw some Singaporean acquaintances. Had a hard time dragging the luggage from one end of the station over to the end (there are so many lines under the Korean subway) and we almost died on the way to the hostel.

Stayed at Backpackers’ Inn near Hyehwa station. It happened to be situated near a university and so the streets there were rather lively, with many clothes and beauty products stores around. The hostel owner was really friendly and we were shown to our rooms after a brief introduction of the area. A rather big room I would say for 3 people, 2 single beds lined side by side and 1 double decker bed. I chose the lower bunk of the double decker bed while they 2 took the single beds. Unpacked a little and we decided to do some exploration. Since it was close to dinnertime, we decided to grab some food first and so we settled at this 2nd storey restaurant by random choice and had army stew for dinner. Chose to sit by the window to enjoy the natural air conditioning and to look at my favourite JYJ standees hehe. The food was oks but quite ex in our opinion.

Army Stew~

Went over to Dongdaemum night market as part of our itinerary and we almost got lost. Went to this shopping mall opp of Doota (which happens to be a very atas place and so we didn’t even walk in once). So many clothes to choose from and I started my shopping spree haha! Had to get some clothes as I didn’t bring enough sets for the whole trip. Saw so many nice blazers but they were really expensive and I had to watch my budget so I kept looking and looking at them lol. Then they 2 decide to walk out into the open to try the night market outside instead. Not much to look at though, even though I saw this fake Prada wallet design that I really loved but I didn’t get it in the end. Who would start off their holidays spending so much money right? Regretting it now though but oh wells. Got myself this nice necklace which I feel is worth the money :) We wanted to stay up throughout the night but since there was nothing much to see/buy and our bodies are not in good conditions, we abandoned the plan and caught a cab back instead. Got some supper from the mart if I didn’t remember wrongly. Flopped onto the bed and caught a few hours of sleep as we were on to Myeongdong the next day, MORE SHOPPING!! :D

The weather was so cooling, abit too cold for me though but it was a really nice change from the warm, hot weather one can experience in Singapore.
More on the other days soon~

Cheers♥♥
