Recently I have a growing obsession with skincare. Perhaps it is the lack of drawer space for any more new makeup, or the fact that I recently bought a magnifying mirror and have been seeing things - such as little spots - that I never did see before, but while browsing through the beauty sections of Watsons, Guardian, or larger Malls, my roving eyes have been resting more on skincare rather than makeup. It's just really hard to rock a great smokey eye when you have multiple large zits on your face, or a lovely new blush when your skin is dry and flaky. I have been finding that an extra minute every night of putting on face cream makes my complexion look so much better than an extra ten minutes in the morning trying to get my foundation 'just right'.
So here comes a little post to keep track of what I have been using; a little diary for myself, and a sneak peek for everyone else. To kick off this series, I thought I'll just put up a quick post on a couple of new additions.
I have been having a very bad few months so far - angry big zits and little spots popping up everywhere on my face. I rarely have breakouts so this was quite upsetting to me and I feel a little helpless and a little more self-conscious than usual. So I bought the REN Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser and REN Clarifying Toning Lotion, hoping some of the "clarifying" properties will help. I wouldn't have chosen these normally, but my usual skincare targeted at dry skin was obviously not helping to control the new phase of skin condition that I am going through. I have only used them for a couple of days - first impression is that they feel a little too drying for my skin for every day use so I think I will be rotating these items in for days where I have a breakout, and continue with my old routine when it's better.
Here's hoping that my efforts pay off and zits begone. If it doesn't, then I guess I'll just have to checkout the other items that's been sitting in my shopping basket. The hunt (for the perfect skincare regime) begins.
