Completed Items in October 2011

What? It's November already? Where did October go? I feel like I have just written my Completed Items list for September, and now it's time for the October list! Time really flies! I had planned tons of reviews for October because I've tried tons of stuff this month - some are things that I bought a long time ago and just sitting there waiting to be used and some are newly bought items; and then life happens and I had no time to do any of it! Oh wells. I guess the completed items list acts as a mini review too. :)

Completed Items in October 2011
1. Cleansing Express BrightUp Cleansing Lotion from Mandom Beauty
This is one of my favourite cleansing lotion; it doesn't leave behind any sticky feel as it just feels like water, but still manages to clean away makeup quite thoroughly - I don't usually detect any hints of lingering makeup when I use toner after this. I don't really see any "brightup" effect, but I think it is too much to ask for in a cleansing lotion, especially since I still use toner after this which I don't think is recommended as the bottle indicates that the cleansing lotion is supposed to be the last step of the daily beauty routine. I don't feel quite right without toning and using my other face products, so I cannot say anything about the hydrating or brightening effect, but I really like using it as a pure cleansing lotion. Definitely will repurchase.
2. Sally Hansen Strengthening Polish Remover
Er, so how do I review nail polish remover? Well, it removes my nail polishes quite quickly. I guess it functions well in that respect? And yes, I will repurchase because I am always in need of nail polish remover.
3. ZA Two-Way Foundation
This used to be my HG foundation because I can use it both wet and dry. Used dry, it feels like any other normal foundation and it will "sit" on your face like most powders. Used wet, I really like the very polished effect! I don't have acne scars, but do have large pores, and this makes my skin look rather flawless! But now I am on a foundation craze so throwing this out to try some other new stuff. For people who are not crazy like me, I think this is really a good affordable foundation because it shows up well on camera - no funny white cast - and makes your skin looks really smooth in real life! Of course, only if applied correctly and with a wet sponge.
4. OPI Nailpolish in miniature size
Forgot what colour this was. I hate these miniature sized bottles! The brush is so small that I have to brush so many times just to cover 1 nail. Plus, I feel like I am wasting a lot of product because all of it is trapped by the side of the bottle which I can no longer reach. I can't say much about the polish itself, because I am just too annoyed with the stupid bottle.
5. Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner_Ex
Didn't see any effect from this after using this quite religiously for a week. Actually, I'm not quite sure what this is meant to do? I merely bought it because it was... just there during a Laneige sale. I couldn't resist buying one of everything during sales. -_- Will not repurchase.

I actually really like writing all these lists! I feel like it encourages me to complete my items rather than just buying so many to try and then leaving all those half used/tested items to pile up in a deserted corner of my room when I get a new 'toy'. :) I think having this blog keeps me in track of not just what I have, but help to curb my impulse shopping! Ok, I have still continued to haul; when I have a bad day, I just have to buy some beauty items! But I think writing lists of completed items have made me use up more of my neglected products. :)

Incidentally I'm feeling very blessed for the month. Feeling loved is one of the best beauty products ever. :)
