Happy New Year everyone!
I hope 2012 had been a great year for everyone; I know mine has been lovely although it was insanely busy. I had a challenging year juggling part time studies with work, particularly with 3 resignations from my department in the year so it was almost as if I was doing multiple peoples' job. My skin and blogging schedule suffered as a result - and this is something that I look forward to rectifying this year. I've also managed to squeeze in a good amount of traveling; I've had 6-7 trips, going across the globe to the US, as well as just to nearby countries such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Looking back, in terms of beauty, I've really had a great year trying out different brands although I will admit that I haven't been very careful with my spending in 2012 - I am literally broke from buying too much makeup and being too 'adventurous'. I got my grabby hands on some Burberry eyeshadows and blushes, as well as Tom Ford quad, while continuing with my hoarding of Dior palettes. I tried out foundations from Chanel to Bourjois, and went back to trying BB creams which I wasn't a great fan of before. I've also fallen in love with blushes this year; I've always been more of an eyeshadow person, but in 2012, I discovered how much more a good blush brings to the face than eyeshadow, and have added more than 20 blushes to my collection in the year including brands from Chanel, Dior, Benefit to Cargo, Sleek, NYX, Milani and more.
In 2013, I am aiming to reign in my spending on beauty items a little and to edit my purchases more carefully. I certainly do not need 5 high end pink eyeshadows since I have no idea how to use it, or 10 black eyeliners since I only have a pair of eyes; I don't want to restrict myself to no makeup purchases because it's sad, but to limit it to things that I really must have or don't have something similar to. I also want to take better care of my skin - moisturising and toning it on a daily basis rather than whenever I remember to do it, as well as taking care of what I put into my body and drinking more water. I must also remember not to neglect other parts of my body, such as my very dry scaly legs.
With that, I would like to thank everyone who has been reading my blog in 2012 and hope that you'd continue to do so in 2013! I will try to blog more regularly in 2013 - I think it helps keep track of what I have purchased, what I liked and didn't, and discover trends between my purchases; I wish really hard for more free time to do so and of course I will try to utilize my time more efficiently this year. :)
Here's wishing for a spanking great 2013 for everyone!
