Hi Guys! Today I would like to share with you my current face/base routine. I say "current", because I have so many products that I keep switching them around. I have also just changed my routine because I got a lot more tanned over the last 2 weeks of holiday so most of my usual base makeup do not work anymore. When I lose my tan in a few weeks, I will most likely switch products again as not all of these are favourites of mine and will do an updated post.
Steps:
1. Bobbi Brown Moisturiser
I love how this feels on me - it sinks in really fast to a dry touch within seconds. It is expensive though, and I dislike the pot packaging - the opening is small while the pot is bigger so you do have to 'dig' at the sides to get product out.
2. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SOF50 PA (Not pictured)
I truly believe in Sunblock and cannot live without one. This sinks in really fast as well and have a really high SPF. It also feels very light and I feel comfortable with it under all my other makeup. My friends have noted that it clogged their pores and made their oily skin feel really oily, but it has not happened to me yet as I have very dry skin so I am still loving this.
3. Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation in True Ivory
The colour is much darker than i expected from a True Ivory, but this works perfectly with my current tanned skin. I really like the formula for this foundation. This dries extremely quickly so some fast application methods are needed - I usually just use my fingers to rub it in. It blends well and feels like nothing is on your skin, leaving your skin velvety soft and smooth like it is naturally flawless. It is also full coverage enough to hide most of my discolourations, as well as undereye circles. I am honestly surprised to not hear many raves for it but I have seen a few bad reviews by people with oily skin, so perhaps this is something only for the ladies with dry skin.
4a. No7 Mineral Perfection in New Ivory
I will be switching this out soon, but it is currently the only powder that matches my skintone now. This oxidises like no other, making me look a lot darker than the already very tanned version of me. The colour is also in no way "Ivory" like its name because it is really dark. I use this very sparingly just to set the foundation.
4b. Diorskin Nude Tan in 001 Aurora
If i had to go for some important events, I will use the Diorskin bronzer as a face powder instead of the No7 powder. Yes, my usual bronzer can be used as face powder - that's how much darker I have turned! I honestly like this as a powder as it is very close to my current skintone, but imparts a nice glow, probably from the shimmery bits. The shimmery bits are not glitter and are finely milled so it's not obvious at all. I dont use this all the time because this is limited edition and I couldnt bear to use so much of it!
There are no concealors listed as none of my concealors match my current tanned skintone. I didnt want to buy a new one because I know that I will lose the tan within a couple of weeks and it will be a waste of money. Plus, the Rimmel foundation is really fantastic at covering minor discolourations as well as undereye circles! I'm having a good period of zit-free skin, so hopefully I lose my tan before any major breakouts.
I have also not listed down my blushes and contouring products because I just wanted to list down all my base products. Those will come in a later post. :)
Do you have a favourite or regular base routine too?
