Hi everyone! Today I have another sample testing up for you and it is on Shu Uemura Skin Purifier - Whitefficient Clear Brightening Gentle Cleansing Oil. I received this sample size from one of my sample box subscriptions - forgot which because I actually subscribed to all of them! I know, I am every retailer's dream consumer. :P

Recap on Sample Testing:
So what is different about sample testing versus reviews? Well, essentially these are also reviews, but a shorter version and there will be more focus on initial thoughts. Most of the products featured will also be products that may need a longer time to review such as skincare and foundation, which is why the focus of the series is on initial thoughts and if I will buy the full size after using the samples.

On to the review:
I have heard a lot of good reviews over Shu Uemura's cleansing oils - I mean, for something that has been around for more than 50 years, there must be something amazing about it right?

The cleansing oil is fully clear with no color tints - almost like clear water but with a heavier constituency as it is oil.

My sample came in a small blue bottle with a screw cap. I believe the normal sized ones comes with pumps, which makes it easier to use because once it comes it contact with any water, it starts to emulsify and turn white. Without a pump, I have to estimate how much to pour out - I usually use about a 50 cents coin size. I rub it over my face with dry hands and dry skin, and after that lather it up with water and wash the remaining off.

Do I like it? Yes, because it removes waterproof makeup easily and does not irritate my sensitive skin. My skin feels hydrated after using this but i have very dry skin - im not sure if it would work as well on people with oily skin. It also did not fully remove all my makeup after 1 rinse - when I clean with a toner afterwards, there are still some residue left so I would recommend doing double cleansing. My skin does not feel oily at all after rinsing it off, but again, its rare for anything to feel greasy on me. Weird point - it blurs out my vision for a few minutes after using this.

Will I purchase the full size? I don't know really - this is rather expensive, about S$58 for a 150ml bottle and S$155 for a 450ml bottle, although I believe a full size bottle will last really really long. My sample bottle lasted for nearly 2 weeks with almost daily usage.

I think this is something that you should really try to get a sample before buying because it may not be for everyone. Plus given how long it will last, if you like it, then it will be a great investment over the long term, but if you don't like it, then you'll be stuck with it for a long time to come!
