Hi Guys! Welcome to a new series of blog posts! I have tons of samples in my stash and one day I just thought, why not write some initial thoughts on them?
Overview on Sample Testing:
So what is different about sample testing versus reviews? Well, essentially these are also reviews, but a shorter version and there will be more focus on initial thoughts. Most of the products featured will also be products that may need a longer time to review such as skincare and foundation, which is why the focus of the series is on initial thoughts and if I will buy the full size after using the samples.
On to the Review!
Today's Sample Testing is on Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup in 020 with SPF 10. It is described as a natural glow hydrating foundation.
Most of the tubes this size can last me about 1 week. Unfortunately with this, it only lasted me 2 applications because there was just simply very little in the tube, and quite a bit is needed for full coverage.
Weird consistency - I am not sure if it's only with the sample size, or all of them comes a little bit "clumpy". It's not the best description, but it does not flow fluidly like liquid and you could see little "lumps".
I have seen a lot of good reviews on this foundation so I was so excited to see if this had the potential to be my next HG foundation. Sadly, I have to disagree with much of the reviews! Perhaps my sample was faulty, but I turned ORANGE after the first hour of application. I rarely have any foundation oxidizing on me, so it was quite a shocker. The positive thing is the lasting power is quite good, as I stayed orange for the rest of the day. I didn't find it particularly hydrating for my very dry skin though.
In terms of texture, it is rather light weight. However, I do need to use quite a bit of it for better coverage as it is more light/medium coverage - which I thought was wasteful for such an expensive foundation. The consistency is also a little weird. I do think I might have a faulty batch? I don't think I will purchase the full size based on my experience with this sample, unless I discover that I really do have a faulty sample.
Have you tried this and has anyone had the same experience as me?
