Review: Essence Gel Eyeliner in 02 London Baby

Hello everyone and welcome back to another review! I have a huge lot of reviews coming up and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I love writing about them. :)

Today I am going to talk about Essence's Gel Eyeliner in 02 London Baby. Ah, London, how I miss you Baby. Truly, I do. I lived in London for a few years and didn't appreciate the place this much until I left. It's a place where it's a little bit gloomy and everyone loves talking about the weather, yet charming in its own way. I miss the thrift stores and old fashioned manners; it's just a bit sad not to see people helping others up the stairs or giving up their seats to old ladies anymore.

Anyway, I digress. Essence Gel Eyeliner in 02 London Baby is gel eyeliner (duh) in a dark brown colour. It looks black in the photos, but I assure you that it is a very dark brown. Application is easy but you do need your own eyeliner brush because it does not come with it. But at its price range, I don't expect it to come with one!

The above picture is after I have rubbed it many times. It does not budge at all. I forgot to take the before-rubbing pictures; but honestly, it looks just the same as after.

Positives:
  • Very cheap though I don't remember how much.
  • Very long lasting - it does not budge after drying.
  • Smooth and easy to apply.
  • Waterproof.
Negatives:
  • Have to wait a little while for it to set or it will smudge and drying time for me is longer than the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner.
  • Impossible to get it off after it has set. Will need super strength eye makeup remover.
All in all, this is a keeper. If you are a fan of gel eyeliners, you can find this in some Watson in Singapore which carries Essence - I believe the Takashimaya branch and Marine Parade branch carries it.

I will not recommend for people with sensitive eyes though, because it was near impossible to remove for me, and all that eye makeup remover was hurting my eyes. A lot of makeup removers sting my eyes, so for me, I would rather have my eye liner smudge on me than one that is impossible to remove. But if you don't have as sensitive eyes as mine, and love a very very long lasting and waterproof eyeliner, this is a must try.
