Takes place: November 23rd, after school @ SMA
Summary: A still-pissed-from-finding-out-Sengoku-took-Renji's-ears Kirihara storms to SMA with one mission: Sengoku must die. There is a gloriously bloody fight, some stuff happens, more stuff happens, Sengoku is going to be a vegetable for about a week. Lots of fit-throwing, crying, yelling, screaming, bloody knuckles, worried people, and um yeah. We spent all of Sengoku's real birthday trying to kill him :D
Warnings: Extremely violent 8D
Akaya was livid. He'd spent the night stewing angrily and rolling over several plans in his head. But they all simply boiled down to finding the stupid fucking asshole and killing him. No one could get away with doing that to his niichan, never.
So the minute school had let out the boy had stalked straight for SMA, ears pinned flat against his head and tail swishing around dangerously. He didn't particularly care for the various students he pushed through or the things they yelled at him; he was on a mission and he'd be damned if he didn't complete it.
He stalked through the halls, eyes narrowed and looking around for the very person he'd set out to destroy.
In the meanwhile, an oblivious Sengoku was traipsing through the hallways, his class having ended just about an hour before. He was left with mostly nothing to do so he thought a walk would do him good! He was still on Cloud 9 from the weekend, ocassionally sighing happily to himself while sitting at his desk, or in this case, not paying attention to where he was going while daydreaming about a certain someone. Perhaps it was fate, or maybe even a case of very bad luck on Sengoku's part, but he crashed into a certain, wrathful boy. Sengoku stumbled into him, hands catching Kirihara by his shoulders to steady himself.
"Whoops~ sorry about that~" he apologized in a sing-song way. He finally glanced down, and blinked at the familiar but not exactly welcome head of curly, black hair.
"Lemme g---" That voice. Akaya's head snapped up, eyes burning with ire. "You." He'd been planning on having a few words but the second he saw the man's stupid ugly face he snapped. Pure and simple snapped, fists flying towards Sengoku's face and recoiling for another go when he heard the sickening crack of fist against flesh and bone.
It was almost too quick for Sengoku, too quick for him to see but his trained eyes caught the blur. Even though, however, he stayed still for that split second, feeling that fist mash against his face, stumbling back from the impact. It was oddly reminiscent from that time when Kirhara had almost done the same, instead, that time he screwed up his neck. This time... the punch seemed almost weaker and all Sengoku could feel was his cheek heating up and swelling slightly. He grinned, amused.
"Looks like you're still--" He barely avoided the next punch, head shifting out of the way. "--mad~!"
"Defiled!" The boy screamed, not letting up on what would look like to a passerby an extremely vicious attack. He was pissed beyond all belief and just the mere sight of the man was making him even angrier. Punches grew heavier; he could feel his own hand smarting but he didn't seem to care enough to stop -- that was a normal thing.
Sengoku managed to dodge a few of those punches, but his avoidance was rather half-hearted, and more than a few connected, pushing him further back. He continued to grin however, almost chuckling-- this was definitely something new. "But but but~ Ren-chan had fun...!" he told the furious boy and indeed... he did have fun. If Renji didn't like it, Sengoku surely wouldn't have gone on.
Akaya faltered for a moment at the older man's words; his body fairly shaking in anger. Oh no. He did not just say that. "YOU'RE LYING!!" He screamed again, eyes narrowing and beginning to turn an interesting shade of red. He growled dangerously, tail swishing and ears flattening against his head as he lunged forward, hands curling around Sengoku's throat with a vice-like grip and sending them both flying to the floor.
A surprised sound came from his throat before his airway was abruptly cut off. His teeth gritted together into a shark-like grin as he half-heartedly struggled with the boy, hands pushing at his chest. The only thing Sengoku could think of was no, he wasn't lying or else Renji would've said he didn't want it. He couldn't just sputter it out incoherently at Kirihara, so there wasn't really anything else to do except to get the boy off him... Luckily, it seemed that Kirhara was fairly light and the older man was able to roll them over and break away. His body gasped for breath as he quickly stood, backing away from the crazed boy.
"I'm not lying! Geez~!"
He didn't hear a word the man was saying -- the second he was free Akaya was back on his feet and fairly seething as he flew forward again, shoulder slamming into Sengoku's stomach to knock him back further. He was quick to act, fists and legs flying wildly. If anything the fucking asshole was making it easier for him by not fighting back.
"Heeey, didn't you hear--!" he started to whine when he fell back again, the wind knocked out of him. Kirihara was pummeling but they were just dull thuds to him, even though his body must've been hurting somehow. "Waaah~! Scary kid's being mean to me!"
"FUCKING DIE ALREADY!" Akaya screeched, stepping back slightly only to throw all his weight into another punch.
"But I don't wanna diiiiie~!" he screamed back at Kirihara. Judging the punch for a split second, he determined he couldn't dodge that one... not what how fast it was going. His hand shot up to catch the fist, but to his slight horror, he heard a crunch and his hand practically buckled in. He hopped back, blinking bewilderedly at his limp, mangled hand.
The sound had been quite satsifying, but not nearly enough. His other fist balled tightly and swung heavily towards the man's head. Akaya was panting, his hands were numb but he kept going; not really hearing the screams and shouts of a few of the school's students who'd begun to gather.
He was too busy looking at his hand, morbidly fascinated at the sight of crumpled fingers, too busy to block or even notice that fist flying at his head. There was a sickening crack, whether it was Sengoku's head or Kirihara's hand, the man didn't know since he was too busy skidding across the hallway floor.
Akaya was far too out of it to even realize his hand was a little limp and swollen, instead charging and pouncing on the fucking bastard who'd defiled his niichan. Eyes had long since gone a dark red, one that quite matched the general colour of Sengoku's face at the moment. He kept on pummelling, not even hearing a very shrill, feminine scream of "STOP!!" The only response he gave to a hand clamping over his shoulder was an arm flying out and smacking right into the person.
An stumbled back from the blow, a wince masking over a face lined with worry. Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit. This kid again. She took a step back, trying to figure out just how the hell she was going to break this up. If the kid could do that much damage to Sengoku -- a man much larger and stronger than herself -- she wouldn't be able to do much of anything. This needed to be stopped, and now. "Go find one of the other teachers." She ordered a boy nearby, a near panicked expression on her face. Spells, she decided, would have to be a last resort. As the one in charge of fixing up students and the like, she couldn't intentionally injure them.
Renji ran onto the scene to see a familiar head of curly hair and lopsided ears, Akaya straddling Sengoku, beating him wildly, spots of blood on the floor. Students were gathered around watching, no one daring to intervene yet everyone eager to watch. "Move out of the way," Renji called out at the crowd of teens, stepping up behind Tachibana. "Tachibana-sensei, activate the battle system and restrain him," given Akaya's frenzy they would have to form a temporary bond to stop him.
He barely heard Renji's voice, so fucking intent on putting this fucker out of his misery that fists continued to pound against bruised flesh. The bastard would die, if he had anything to say about it.
An had been about to question the other teacher's request before deciding that maybe the older man was right. Sure, she was a bit rusty but managed easily enough. It was a little weird to be back like this but it'd have to do. "I don't really want to hurt him." She murmured quietly. Now to think of spell that would hold the kid but wouldn't cause too much damage. Yeck, she didn't like this.
"Restraints, hold him back with Andromeda's celestial chains," he murmured softly. He couldn't yet see how much damage Akaya had done but he couldn't see Sengoku moving at all to resist. Just because Zeros didn't feel pain didn't mean this was okay.
...Okay, that would work and probably better than anything her brain could come up with at the moment. Her voice was soft, marked with a melodic lilt when she spoke. "Restraints, hold him back with Andromeda's celestial chains!" An relaxed slightly as sparked silver encircled the boy, binds getting tighter and tighter by the second.
Well that was one thing that seemed to catch his attention. Akaya screamed as chains tightened around his limbs and throat; still trying to get at Sengoku and fighting them the whole way. Not that it was particularly effective, his arms were nearly stuck to his sides and it was getting harder to breathe.
Renji took that chance to approach him, wrapping his arms around Akaya and nipping an ear sharply.
What'd worked before seemed to have worked again -- the second teeth clamped over his ear the boy snapped out of it; whimpering quietly from the pain shooting through his body. "Niichan? What...?" What the hell was going on?
He let go of Akaya, relieved. Until he caught sight of Sengoku. "Kiyosumi," he called out, passed Akaya and crouched by the injured Zero's side. His face was smeared with blood, his body was beaten and crumbled against the floor like a heavy sack. Renji held himself from trying to shake the other man awake. Worried tears pricked at his eyes, this was all his fault.
Sengoku wasn't able to reply back; he didn't even hear the man. He fell into unconciousness long ago, his body not able to take the abnormally forceful blows from the smaller one. Bruised, beaten, bleeding... he lay there.
That little scene had been a little more than surprising to An. Like how the kid could go from acting like a wild animal to looking like nothing more than a little kid in less than a minute. Even so she held the binds, letting them loosen only slightly. Couldn't be too careful. "How bad is it?" She asked quietly, more than a little scared herself.
Akaya's hands fucking throbbed like hell, and when he'd managed to actually drop his head enough to look the amount of blood spilling out of his knuckles and mixing with another source. It hurt, as did the chains still hanging tightly around him. "Niichan!" he called out, very nearly ending on a wail. "NIICHAN!!!" Why wasn't he helping him? Why was he with the stupid guy?
Renji rubbed the tears away from his eyes with the side of his hand, taking a slow breath to try to calm himself down. "It looks pretty bad," he replied quietly, moving aside so that the young woman could help Sengoku even though he didn't want to leave the man's side. "You can drop the spell, Tachibana-sensei... I-I'll call someone to come and get him."
"Damnit." She hissed. This was bad. A little warily the spell was broken and battle system died down. An rushed forward, nearly slipping in a puddle of blood on the floor before settling down next to Sengoku's side. Shit shit shit shit FUCK. Breathe, An. Stay calm. "BACK OFF, all of you!" She shouted at the various students pressing closer in attempt to see the full extent of the damage. Peering around for a moment her eyes stopped on two boys nearby. "You, and you. Go get the stretcher, a bowl of warm water, a bottle of iodine and some cotton. NOW!" If anything she could clean up some of the blood while waiting for whoever the hell to show up -- she would need Yanagi-sensei's help moving him. The boys, of course, took off without a word.
"Niichan!" Akaya was damn near sobbing, slowly trying to get back to his feet and wobbling so much he had to lean against the wall to support himself. "It hurts." He whimpered quietly. Niichan could make it all better, right?
"Akaya, we have to look after Kiyosumi first, you hurt him badly." His voice was calm despite how worried he was for Sengoku. And even though Akaya had beaten up his friend badly Renji couldn't really feel angry at him.
"He's stupid." He murmured, cradling his hand against his chest. "Stupid stupid bastard steals lies takes everything." Akaya shook slightly, tears beginning to fall down his cheeks.
"He's my friend," Renji's voice rose slightly, it was the closest he'd ever been to yelling at someone. He didn't have the patience or the mind to be gentle to Akaya right now. He was too worried about Sengoku.
"He's stupid dirty no good bastard defiling!" The boy screamed, very near throwing a tantrum and just the mere sight of the fucker's bloody body was pissing him off again.
Renji shook his head, frustrated, "That's enough, I'm going to call Masaharu-kun to pick you up. Stay in my room until then." He dialed for the other teen's number while waiting for students to return with a stretcher for Sengoku.
"No!" he yelled. What the fuck was this? Why the shit wasn't Renji helping him?
He grasped for the last strings of patience he had remaining. "Akaya, you can come with us to the infirmary, I will bandage your hands and then you will go home with Masaharu-kun, there is no room for argument."
God, didn't this kid ever shut up? An was tempted to just tell Renji to get the kid out of there but... guh. She checked over Sengoku, wincing at each bruise and cut that riddled his body.
"Fine." Akaya grumbled, ears lowering a bit dejectedly. This wasn't fucking fair, he was hurt and his niichan was taking that bastard's side?
Renji was quiet, he didn't ask if Sengoku was going to be okay because he knew that the other man would be okay. It didn't stop the persistent worry gnawing at him though. At the very least Akaya was quiet now. When were the students coming back with the stretcher?
Akaya slid down the wall and scooted across the floor, arms curling around Renji's leg and cheek pressing lightly against it. His head drooped and a small, pained looking pout curled on his lips but he did keep quiet.
"Tachibana-sensei!" The boys who'd been sent (finally) returned, skidding to a stop just a few feet away and inching closer.
At last! "Thank you. Put that over there." An directed the boy with the stretcher before taking the other things from the remaining boy. And yes, she had noticed how worried the other teacher seemed to be. "I need to clean him up a bit first, Yanagi-sensei. There's too much blood for me to tell how bad it really is. Just hold on a little longer." Being trained as she was she knew headwounds tended to bleed a lot more than other parts of the body -- with any luck it wasn't as bad as it looked. Turning her attention back to Sengoku she began working, pouring some of the iodine into the water and soaking the cotton before setting to wipe gently at his face.
When Renji dialed, thankfully it was the right Niou who picked up. Just come down? The silver-haired teen didn't know what the fuck was going on but Akaya wasn't around, so it just might have something to do with him, though, he supposed he could've asked. Hanging up, Niou went straight to the preppy school and wandered around to the building Renji had directed him to. An eyebrow rose at the crowd circling something and he whistled lowly at the sight. "What? Was there a fight or some--" His words froze in his mouth when he got closer, eyes landing upon a bloody heap with what he thought was orange hair. "Ho shit..."
"I thought I told you all to ba--" An cut herself off as her head turned towards the new voice. "Are you his friend?" She waved towards the boy clinging to Renji's leg.
"He is. Masaharu-kun, take Akaya home with you after we take a look at his hand." Renji had pretty much calmed down, the sight of the blood clearing off of Sengoku helped a little. It was bad but wasn't as bad as it originally looked. But he was still unconscious.
"Er... yeah..." Niou's eyes darted from Sengoku and the nurse, to Renji and Akaya. Did... no fucking way could... yeah right. Guy must've flung himself out a window or something because really, he's probably crazy enough to do something like that. However assured he was, though, Niou cautiously sidled up to Akaya and tugged on his shirt. "Oi, you heard him. Les' get you to the infirmary or whatever."
"Down the hall, take the first right, take a left and it's the first door on the left. Go." An ordered. She had enough to deal with here without having to deal with a moody kid too.
"Haruharu." Reluctantly the boy let go of Renji's leg and sidled closer to Niou, arms curling around his leg instead. "Don't wanna."
Niou took one more look at the bloody heap of a man on the floor, and frowned down at Kirihara. "You heard the lady. C'mon." He blinked down at Kirihara, catching a glimpse of a messed up hand. "Fuck. Seriously, c'mon. Yer hand's all messed up. What happened this time? That crazy asshole try to take you out too?"
"Don't remember." Akaya admitted quietly. "Hit him 'n he said somethin' and I can't remember what happened after that. Last thing I 'member is Niichan biting me." But even still Akaya began climbing to his feet, whimpering slightly as hands pulled on Niou's clothes.
"You were hitting Kiyosumi," Renji told him softly before moving to hover just behind Tachibana. He glanced over her anxiously, waiting to help move Sengoku.
"Huh..." Niou tried to keep his eyes off of the one he deemed crazy, but all the blood couldn't help but draw him in. His attention, however, was distracted when Kirihara began climbing up his leg and his arms moved to help the boy up. He gave Akaya a somewhat skeptical look and shook his head. "Naw... you couldn't have done this. Well, whatever, let's jus' get outta here." He tugged the other teen against him and began dragging him down the hallway.
An let out a sigh of somewhat-relief, attention turned fully back to her current charge. It really wasn't as bad as initially believed and Sengoku was still breathing but... She simply couldn't believe a kid that size could cause this much damage. "Yanagi-sensei, grab the stretcher and give me a hand getting him on. I don't really want to move him but I can't leave him in the middle of a floor."
Renji took the stretcher and set it down next to Sengoku. He carefully, as gently as he could possibly, lifted the other man by the shoulders and slid him onto the stretcher with Tachibana's help. He bit his lip as he looked down at the battered face, "Kiyosumi..."
"One, two, three, up!" They managed to get it up easily enough and without doing too much jostling. And now that that part was over they could work on getting him back to the infirmary. Which was a surprisingly easy task, soon enough he was settled on an exam table. With a slight weight lifted off her shoulders An turned to Renji, a somewhat apologetic look on her face. "There isn't much you can do just yet -- check out the boy's hand for me, please?" And with that she went back to work quickly, checking Sengoku over and cataloging various parts she could tell were broken.
"Damnit."
"All right," Renji replied though he kept looking over his shoulder to glance at Tachibana and Sengoku. He took the first aid kit and settled down in front of Akaya where he sat with Masaharu. "Let me see your hands," he said gently.
Akaya grumbled quietly but obliged, hands gingerly held out over his lap. By now knuckles had crusted with blood and the right one was definately swollen. "It hurts." He murmured.
"It better hurt," Niou grumbled, looking over. "Or else sumfin's wrong with ya."
"Or he's a Zero." An muttered. If there was anything she was thankful for at the moment is that for all the damage done, Sengoku couldn't feel a damn thing of it.
Renji took Akaya's hands carefully, taking a cotton swab and cleaning it with quick gentle swipes. It was probably stinging badly. The knuckles were split, angry and raw. He set the swabs down once it was done, taking some gauze and wrapping the injury.
"Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!" Akaya screeched, barely refraining from snatching his hands back. That shit fucking STUNG.
"Aw, don't be a baby!" Niou frowned and slapped at Kirihara's shoulder to shut him up. But even after that, he pulled the boy towards him, arm looped around his shoulder to comfort.
"Yanagi-sensei, may I speak to you for a moment? In private, please." An's voice piped, though it seemed a little strained.
Finishing with Akaya Renji nodded slightly, getting up and walking into the other division of the room with Tachibana. "What is it? How badly is he hurt?"
"I can't fix it. There's too many broken bones and I can't tell if there's any internal injuries. I don't have all the training needed and I could lose my license for even trying." She replied, keeping her voice quiet. "I'm sorry." She really wasn't liking this. But then again... "He's a Zero, they have doctors for them, right?"
"No," he protested without thinking. He didn't like the lab scientists, the way they treated Sengoku, had always disliked them. Renji bit his lip, they really didn't have a choice. Relenting he sighed slightly, "Call Itou-sensei." Their "mommy" was really the only one he trusted out of the scientists.
"Alright. Stay here a minute, give the boy some painkillers if he wants them. I'll take a look in a minute but for now, excuse me." And with that An flitted off to her office to make the phone call.
"Shut up, it hurts." Akaya grumbled, but even so he leaned against his friend. This bit a lot of ass.
Renji waited tersely, silent. He looked at Sengoku where he lay wondering how long he would have to spend sleeping to recover.
An returned shortly, gathering up a few things on her way back to the others. "She'll be here in a few minutes, Yanagi-sensei." She turned to Kirihara, kneeling down so she could check him over. "Hold out your hands."
Akaya edged closer to Niou but reluctantly held out his hands again. He didn't really like this lady all that much, but Niichan and Haruharu wouldn't let her hurt him, right?
"This is going to hurt, but if you broke something it's better to know now. Just bear with it." She murmured softly, feeling around over bandages and pressing in a few places. This didn't seem so good either. "If anything, I think you broke several of your knuckles. I don't think I've ever seen someone your age hit hard enough to actually break something, but..." The still dull throb in her stomach could vouch for how damn hard the kid hit. "You should go to the hospital and get it checked out."
Akaya bit down on his lip when hands began to poke and prod at his own, barely refraining from screaming again and snatching his hands back. Instead he just whimpered, eyes clenched shut and teeth grinding against each other.
An smiled slightly and handed several pills and a glass of water to Niou. "You might have better luck getting him to take them." Nevermind the fact she'd slipped a mild sedative into the mix.
Niou blinked at the pills. "Fuck, whatcha trying to do? Get 'im addicted?" he frowned at An, almost distrustfully.
An stared at him like he'd just grown another head or something. "They're painkillers. There's enough there to last till tomorrow. One of each now, one of each every six hours or so till they're gone."
"Oh," he grumbled, still giving her a slight glare. "Fine. C'mon, drink up," he told Kirihara, handing over a pill and the drink.
"Both of them, Masaharu-kun." Yeah, she caught that.
Niou gave her a slight scowl, then popped another pill into Kirihara's hand.
Akaya grumbled again, rolling the pills in his hand for a moment (OW!) before popping them in his mouth and swallowing, taking a drink of water and handing the glass back to Niou. "Ew."
"You'll feel better soon." An replied, hunting down a small bottle for the rest of the pills and handing it to Niou. "Keep the rest in here and remember: one of each pill every six hours."
"Uh huh..." he barely acknowledged her, squinting at the small print on the bottle to make sure it said just that.
However, Niou didn't get very far in the small, compact paragraphy before he heard an aghast shriek.
"OH. MY. GAWD! What happened to my darling!?"
Renji turned at the familiar shriek, relieved that she was here. "Mommy," he murmured softly looking almost childish and scared. If he could still move his ears they would have been flattened to his head.
"RenRen!!!" Itou nearly screamed her other son's name, quickly motioning him over to Sengoku as she herself made her way to the broken Zero. "What on Earth happened!? Kiki's so... so... fucked up!"
"There was a fight." An explained. "I don't know exactly what happened but he's badly injured and unconcious."
Mommy, what the hell? Akaya's head perked up at that, voice obviously curious. "Mommy?" Niichan hadn't ever said anything to him about his mommy.
Renji didn't add, he didn't know what happened. He'd only been there to see Akaya beating on Sengoku, had no clue what lead up to it, how it started. He looked at her with slightly watery eyes. It was the first time Sengoku had been this injured. "How long will he need to sleep?" he asked in a small voice.
Itou frowned at the look on her son's face. She would go and comfort her boy, but her oldest son needed the attention right now. "What are his injuries, dearie?" she asked An, turning to look at her.
An sighed. What a damn list this was. "Broken hand, broken nose, several broken ribs, two concussions, I think his neck might be broken and there's a possibility of internal injury and bleeding. Aside from various bruises, cuts and bloodloss." She replied, ears hanging slightly.
...This was really weird. "Niichan." Akaya called quietly. He really didn't like it when his Niichan sounded like a little kid.
"Shhhh, think we should be quiet," Niou hushed his friend, giving him a slightly pointed look and pointed to the glass of water.
Itou shook her head, her brow creased in concern. "And he got all this from a fight!?" It was most definitely a surprise... Sengoku was a big boy and strong, too! What the HELL happened? "What was his Fighter doing!? Having a coffee break?? Oh dear~!" she lamented, "You're not invincible, you silly boy..." She sighed, caressing her fingers over Sengoku's face, frowning. "Depending on how bad everything is... he could be asleep for at least a week! Is he in hypnosis now?"
"One hell of a fight, at that." An admitted. "He was already unconcious when I got there." She took a few steps forward, then paused. "It wasn't a spell battle. Kid did that with his bare hands."
"What!? No... you're right, it doesn't look like any spell battle from here could do anything like this..."
A whole week, he'd never heard of anyone sleeping that long. Tears were rolling down Renji's cheeks as the severity of the injuries sunk in. God, how could he let that happen? He should have been able to prevent it somehow. He was completely silent as he cried.
This really wasn't right. For all the times Niichan had seen him cry, he'd never once seen the older man cry. And watching his Niichan cry made HIM want to cry (for Niichan, not for the stupid bastard on the table. He deserved everything he got, even if Akaya couldn't remember half of what he'd done) "Niichan!" Akaya sounded a little distressed and no, he didn't really care that Haruharu had pretty much told him to shut up.
Aw shit, was Renji actually crying? Niou never thought he'd see the stoic man cry... like ever, so it was more than a little disturbing to him. "Oi, shut up," he hissed at Kirihara. Obviously, now wasn't the time to be crying for attention.
"Shoot... we'll have to wake him up and get him there then... But we can't let him heal with those bones sticking out everywhere~!" She turned to An, about to ask for her help but... "I'm sorry dearie... but what's your name?"
"No! Niichan!!" The curlyhaired boy screeched, wiggling away from Niou and trying to wobble his way to his feet. He was hurt too, for fucks sake.
An's head snapped up at the loud voice, frowning and very nearly barking out an order. "Get him out of here, Masaharu-kun." She didn't have time to deal with him right now. Turning back to Itou she gave a small smile. "Tachibana An. I'm the nurse here. It... might be hard to wake him up."
"NOT GOIN' NOWHERE NO NO NO!" He managed to get to his feet (albeit groggily) and taking the few steps needed to throw himself at Renji, arms curling tightly around the older man and a tearstreaked face burying into his shirt.
Renji sighed and wrapped an arm around Akaya, letting the boy cuddle into his shirt. He lifted his other hand to rub at his face. "Go home with Masaharu-kun, Akaya."
"Don't wanna. Wanna stay with Niichan." Akaya grumbled, arms tightening slightly. No way. Nah uh. Not leaving.
He shook his head, "No, you're going home." He pulled Akaya back slightly, looking the boy in the eye, "Sleep."
"I don't wan---" He didn't even get a chance to finish his sentence before his body went limp, leaning heavily against Renji and features softening a bit.
Niou had rolled his eyes at the way Akaya was acting. He didn't have to act like such a baby, right? But he sighed anyway, feeling a little bad that the other teen was crying like that. He was going to say something but the crying stopped, and he blinked at the limp body. "......What the fuck?"
"Take him home, Masaharu-kun," Renji murmured softly. He'd gotten his own crying under control though his eyes were still damp. He stood, holding Akaya up.
"....Right..." he answered warily, ducking under Akaya and slinging his arm over his shoulder. "...You okay?" he asked Renji, deciding not to ask what he did.
"I'll be fine, make sure he gets his hand checked out." Renji closed his eyes and turned away slightly, letting Masaharu take hold of Akaya.
Niou nodded, giving Renji a tilted look before he started to drag Kirihara away. He'd complain later to Renji about it later but at least Kirihara was actually a little light.
Itou didn't even notice the distractions as she just nodded to An. "Well~ we'll just worry about waking him up later~ We need to take care of the bones first..."
That... had been a bit of a surprise (okay a lot of a surprise) to An. There were very few Sacrifices that could use a few spells, but actually seeing one was a little mindboggling. At least the kid was quiet and on his way out now. Right. Anyway! "Some of them will be quite difficult to set without causing further injury..." she trailed off.
"Don't worry about it. He won't feel a thing," she smiled at An before moving to Sengoku's side and taking his arm, squinting at his broken fingers.
Him not feeling anything wasn't exactly what she was worried about, it was more of setting things that could puncture a lung or slice his spinal cord. "I'll leave it to you then, Itou-sensei." The lady was one of the scientists, she knew more about how Zeros worked than An did. But she'd be there if help was needed.
"Maybe you could take care of my other son then, dearie?" she suggested, looking up from Sengoku's hand to give An a worrisome look.
An's shoulders slumped a bit, but nodded. She wasn't so good at trying to cheer up people she barely knew outside of work. "Do you want some tea or something, Yanagi-sensei?"
Renji shook his head, "No thank you, Tachibana-sensei. I assure you, I'm quite fine." He ran a hand through his hair, finger catching against where the ears were fastened. Not caring for the moment he plucked them off and held onto them instead.
...That wasn't something you saw every day. Shrugging slightly An sighed, moving to go back to her office. "I'll call someone to clean up the hallway." Not only was it not a mess but it just wasn't sanitary to have pools of blood lying around in a school.
"That's probably a good idea," Renji murmured softly, sitting back down and waiting for Itou to finish.
At this point, Itou was already working away, setting each broken bone into place with a crack. As noisy as it was, Itou didn't seem at all phased by it, even if it was her own 'son.' This went on for a good thirty minutes or so until she stepped away from Sengoku, letting out a sigh. "I think I got most of them... just need to bandage him up."
An leaned against the wall slightly, arms folded over her chest. "Everything you need should be in the third drawer down on the right." She pushed herself forward to give a hand.
"Thank you~" she replied in gratitude, her spirits lifting a little now that Sengoku looked somewhat normal again. Taking the bandages, she began to wrap the man up, putting braces wherever they were needed, so Sengoku wouldn't be able to move then and break the alignment. "All right. Now we just need to wake him up~"
Renji looked up at that, rising from where he was sitting. Sengoku was bound tightly in bandages, but at least he didn't look like a broken doll anymore. "How are you going to wake him up?" he asked with a little bit of worry. Some of the scientists had questionable means of dealing with Zeros though he did trust Itou.
Heading back to the cabinets, the scientist glanced around until she found what she was looking for. "Ah hah~ here we go." Coming back, she unscrewed the top of the bottle and held it under his nose. "Wakey, wakey, Kiki..."
It took a couple sniffs on Sengoku's part before he visibly made a face and turned his head away. He grimaced, frowning a little as he felt more than a little groggy. "Smelly..."
Hearing Sengoku's voice, however soft, made Renji brighten. He stepped closer, trying to not get in the way but still wanting to see the other man.
An let out an audible sigh of relief at that, her ears perking up a bit and tail swishing around happily. "Much better." She'd been just as worried as everyone else, he'd been unconcious for about an hour and hadn't shown any signs of waking up. "Welcome back to the world of the living." She grinned.
"Kiyosumi?" Renji murmured softly, he wasn't sure if Sengoku would hear him or if he should even disturb him.
"An-chan, Renji..." Sengoku mumbled, mind still dazed and hazy, and he thought he might've felt something pounding against it. He wanted to ask them to stop whatever it was that was pounding against him but he couldn't get it out when he started to cough.
"Awww... my little boy's tired, isn't he?" Itou cooed loudly, gently brushing mussed up hair from his eyes, fingers caressing against his forehead. "You made An-chan and Renren all worried~! You bad, bad boy..." she reprimanded the Zero.
"...'m sorry."
"It's not your fault, Kiyokiyo." An said softly, the nickname spoken somewhat fondly. Probably wouldn't do to overwhelm him and have him pass out again. "Just take it easy. You'll be all better soon."
"Just be quiet and rest, Sengoku," Renji murmured softly.
Eyes still closed, Sengoku smiled up to the ceiling.
"Resting sounds good, doesn't it Kiki? Go under hypnosis mode, okay, sweetie pie? You can see your friends when you're all better."
Sengoku let out a soft sigh. His body felt like lead and he figured he wouldn't be able to move anything... not when he couldn't particularly feel them. "'kay, mommy. ...'night." He mumbled softly to himself before he settled again, body still except for the rise and fall of his chest.
Itou pressed her palm against Sengoku's forehead before she nodded in approval. "He'll be all right now. We could give him an IV but... I think it might be better if we wake him up a few times to feed him. Being asleep for a week isn't very good."
"I'll keep an eye on him." An volunteered quietly. This man was her friend, she couldn't just sit back and do nothing. And no, sleeping for a week didn't seem very good even if she herself wished she could sometimes.
"I will too," Renji offered. He didn't want to leave Sengoku. "Let me stay with him・or a bit," he had no intention of leaving.
"That's fine." An replied. She didn't particularly want to leave, either. "But not too late, you have morning classes."
The scientist nodded and reached over to ruffle Renji's hair. However, she did a double-take when she noticed her hand didn't bump into any ears. Raising a brow, she gave a sly smile to Renji. "You. Me. We'll talk later~"
Renji knew better than to protest with either of them. "Yes, Mommy."
An barely refrained from giggling at that. "Alright then. Thank you for coming, Itou-sensei. You're a lifesaver." Literally, no doubt.
"That's a good boy~" She smiled wide at Renji, patting his cheek before turning to An. "Please take good care of him." She bowed once in gratitude before skampering off, now that her work was done. She also figured that they'd want to spend time with Kiyosumi without his mother hovering around.
"Have a go at that tea now?" An asked when the other woman had left, moving to get a pot ready even if he didn't want any.
Renji watched Itou leave and then turned to look at Tachibana preparing tea. "I suppose, thank you," he murmured softly.
The tea was brewed quickly enough. An handed over a steaming cup and waved over to the counter. "There's honey and sugar over there if you want any. And milk in my office." She took a seat, slowly sipping at her own and eyes focused on the comatose man on her exam table. "It's going to be a long night."
