Kio shivers as he looks down at Soubi's slumbering form. Another night of bandaging those tight-lipped sudden wounds, another night of Soubi trembling in the net of feverish nightmare.
Kio reaches a hand out and slides it down Sobui's spine. The flesh is crisscrossed with the spider-web wisps of scar, raised flesh running in all directions, intersecting and locking together like the precise tangles of a dreamcatcher. But Soubi tenses suddenly, dream-thick noises falling form his lips. Kio sighs and slips into bed beside him, silent and uncertain, and he wraps Soubi in cautious arms and legs, pretending that for just one night he can keep Soubi safe from the phantoms.
