EPIC MARAUDERS CASTING PICSPAM PART I
hey everyone! so the other day, i decided that i would do a huge marauders casting picspam. i always go onto marauders rp sites, and i find myself dissatisfied with the played bys people use for characters. so i teamed up with my friend, kali (goblin_hunt), and we deeply discussed and compromised and decided who we thought are ideal pbs for these characters are. all of the played by's chosen are fashion models because a) they're prettier, b) there is a lot of diversity, and c) because we wanted to. all graphics © me. WARNING: fairly large images ahead. so here we go!
THE MARAUDERS
why this pb was chosen: james was a really really hard one to cast. james is probably the one i dislike how other people cast the most. my first choice i had for him was mikus lasmanis because of the impish mischievious quality he has, but then kali suggested jeremy young. and i absolutely think he's almost perfect. yes, he has bright blue eyes but you can't really tell in these pics...i always thought of james as like the golden boy of gryffindor who exudes a lot of confidence and is very handsome, but doesn't really take anything seriously. and jeremy has the dark somewhat messy black hair and the lean build that's good totes james.
why this pb was chosen: louis was kali’s first pick, and i have to say it’s pretty perfect. sirius to me was always the ‘pretty’ boy of the marauders, so louis definitely fits the bill for that. also despite not being the same way as his family, sirius, i feel, would still have a bit of an aristocratic carriage. sirius was also the ladies man of the marauders and was pretty much sex on legs, and louis definitely is tall, dark, handsome sex on legs. correct me, if i’m wrong.
why this pb was chosen: ok so i know remus isn't supposed to be as built as ryan is, but i think ryan's a good remus! actually i was considering him for someone else, and then kali was like 'OMG USE HIM FOR REMUS' and i then thought about it and was like 'OMFG YES!' ryan has a sweetness and a softness and solidness to him that i definitely ascribe to remus, and then you look at some of ryan’s other photos and find that he has a lot of emotional range as well (see bottom left pic) which i can attribute to remus' condition and frustration and such emotions towards it. plus i always considered him the fairer of the group with everyone being dark haired, so here's dark blond ryan. also i think remus can so be sexy in his own right, so this is my fantasy working because i think ryan is super smexy =P
why this pb was chosen: so i really don’t care for peter, so really all i wanted was someone who was the awkward looking one in this band of, what i find are, rogue pretty boys. plus the books never said that peter was unattractive in school (a point kali made). so that’s why we have matt here instead of some really effed up person slapped with the ugly stick too many times. peter was just smaller and mousier (yes, he was rounder in the books but what male model is round?) than his three other best friends and kind of just fell under their shadow. i think matt is a good portrayal of that sort of mousy reservedness and timidity, yet can still sort of hold his own in the ruckus and mischief that the marauders embody.
& COMPANY
why this pb was chosen: lily’s really hard to cast too. because you have the trinity of red headed models that most people use (cintia dicker, lily cole, and natalya piro), but none of them do a really good job fitting. cintia’s too oohlala sexy, lily’s too edgy high fashion alien, and natalya (though my choice among these three) is too dolly. so one day i was browsing through random marauders sites, and i find someone using this girl for lily and i fell in love. anna is gorgeous. the bottom pic pretty much sold me on her being lily because of the vividness of the eyes with the hair and its just pretty. her face is just beautiful and natural, and i think just perfect.
why this pb was chosen: so i decided to cast alice and frank because i find them to be a cute couple and pretty kickass. kali pretty much casted them. i’ve always found alice to be a blond anyways so having trentini as her was not a problem for me. i feel alice is really strong and solid and a bit of a firecracker which i think caroline can portray since she’s not the typical ethereal blond waif of a model.
why this pb was chosen: somehow neville was born to two really hot sexy people, but in my mind he had kickass parents who were hot and sexy, okay? kali picked joey too. while we were going through options, i joked that kali wanted her frank with tattoos because all of her choices had tattoos. and she was like ‘it’s not that tattoos, it’s the attitude’. and then i was pretty much sold after that. we found frank to be passionate and with an edge, but responsible, strong, and stable. oh and masculine (which translates to built with muscles xD). so here’s joey with his really sweet angelic face, but hard sexy body of steel. try to ignore the ink if it doesn’t work for you =P
ok so i was planning on having more people in this part of the spam, but i decided to put them in a later part. i didn’t want to do the weasleys because a) they were much older than the marauders and actually had kids by this point, and b) there are only so many redheaded model pb’s to go around and i’m saving them for my post-potter spam later. there will be around three more parts to this spam: slytherins (future death eaters & supporters), miscellaneous (other gryffindors as well as ravenclaws and hufflepuffs of importance), and then ships (het/slash, canon/non canon pairings kali and i ship).
