From this place. It's been so long I actually forgot how to update, trolling around my lj page looking for an update button before I rememered that I use Semagic.
Needless to say, it's been a busy month. Exams finished on Wednesday afternoon, I went straight from there to my mom's to drop off the kids, then off to Hicks Lake for an overnighter with a bunch of people from school. Back home, packing, cleaning, packing, cleaning.
This morning we unceremoniously dumped a metric assload of dismantled particle board furniture in
ms_wu's backyard, and if she's lucky, we'll actually pick it up sometime today muahahaha.
As I was following Paul and his brother in the U-Haul home, they all of a sudden pulled over, and I thought- crap, the damn thing broke down, didn't it, cause U-Haul's are always such scary pieces of shit vehicles. But then they hopped out, all smiles, and I realised that they were going for a slurpee run to the 7-11 across the street. Both dh and his brother had 1-2 litres a day slurpee habits, until they hit about 25 and realised their aging metabolisms could no longer handle 140000 sugar calories every day. The sight of the two of them heading to the 7-11, grinning like fools to pick up a breakfast slurpee with like-minded company was too cute for words. Since this is West Point Grey, the slurpee store is right next to an ooh-la-la bakery called Le Patisserie Bordeaux, and I called dh up to get me an almond croissant, my personal omg I'm gonna spend the next 12 hours lifting heavy things and scrubbing with bleach breakfast indulgence of choice.
With any luck *knock wood* we'll be in the new place by suppertime, and have the dsl back up by tomorrow afternoon. Yes, the house is packed up but the computers are the last thing to get packed down.
Oh, U-haul is back. See yas all later!
xoxo
