summary: they get stuck in a bubble.

“Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun. Wake up, Kyuhyun.”

A pair of arms nudge him until he's fully awake and Kyuhyun opens his eyes to see Donghae's smile and the glint in his eyes that reflects it.

“What'd you wake me up for?” Kyuhyun rubs the bleariness away from his half-lidded eyes. He feels like like something about the room is different. He just can't put his finger on it.

The last thing he remembers doing was crawling into Donghae's bed last night and curling into his arms until they both fell asleep. But now he's awake and he feels out of place. The air feels tighter than usual and there's this really warm feeling that's rising in his chest. He doesn't remember it being there last night. The room was also not this bright before...

And then it hits him. His hand reaches down to survey the ground, but there is no ground. Inside, his hand touches something that's plastic and light, and he knows that something is wrong when Donghae tugs his hand away from the ground.

“Be careful when you touch things in here,” Kyuhyun can feel how warm Donghae's hand is. “You might pop the bubble.”

It takes a minute for Kyuhyun to collect himself and try not to scream at the same time.

He can't believe it. It's too impossible to believe in. But what he's saying is true. His eyes scan everything that surrounds them, but his eyes channel nothing. It's only white, blank spaces that are around them and a thin, filmy sphere that covers them.

Kyuhyun's been taught to stay calm in extremely dangerous situations and he thinks that being trapped in a air-tight bubble is one of them.

He clears his throat and asks the only person that's there with him, “Hey, what's happened to us?”

Donghae is quick to answer him with a smile, the kind he stores away for people he especially likes, and tells him, “I don't know what's happened to us. I think we're in a plane-”

“Donghae, this is not a plane. Does this look like a plane to you?” Kyuhyun interrupts. He's never loved anybody like he's quite loved Donghae before, but he doesn't want to hear this. He wants to hear answers. Well explained, scientifically logic answers.

“Not those type of planes, silly,” Donghae laughs it off and the sound of his laugh bounces off the walls of the bubble. “A plane like 'we're in a different dimension' plane. Those types of planes.”

Kyuhyun's stomach does a flip and he doesn't think that it's a good time for him to be stuck in a transparent bubble. He picks up his knees until they're up to his chest and he tucks his arms around them. It makes his stomach feel a tiny bit better but Donghae's smile makes him even more uneasy. It makes Kyuhyun question him.

“How can you be so calm? I'm sitting right across from you and I'm freaking out over here.”

Donghae becomes quiet, like he's trying to think of how he should explain it.

“I've been watching these moving pictures.”

“Moving pictures?”

“Yeah, moving pictures,” Donghae cranes his neck to what's above them and Kyuhyun does the same thing. Before he can say something about what his eyes are confirming, he hears Donghae say one more thing to him.

“They're moving pictures of you and me.”

Kyuhyun feels his breath being taken away.

He's seeing all his memories splayed out on one huge TV screen and it's replaying all the memories that they've ever had with each other. There's one that shows him and Donghae together and he watches how his face changes when Donghae comes near him. He tries not to shrink from embarrassment when it does a close up of his smile, because it makes him look goofy and it shows how weak his knees get when Donghae is around him.

He feels how happy he is when it switches to another memory of them together, one where they're next to each other on a radio show and Donghae is acting retarded in front of him and everybody else that's in the room with them. He remembers trying to be serious that day but being around Donghae made him give up. He remembers flashing certain smiles at him, the ones that he also stores away for people he especially likes.

Then it switches to the memory that will forever be burned in his mind.

He sees himself sporting blonde hair again and he's wearing a burly type of coat. His teeth start to hurt because he smiles big at the moment where he forms a heart with his arms above his head and Donghae imitates him in the background right after.

He hears himself saying words that had a lot of meaning to them and re-telling them to Donghae after he had finished his own relay. He remembers being scared at first because that was the first thing he wasn't comfortable talking to Donghae about, but then the kiss that Donghae gave him afterwards made all of his worries vanish into thin air.

He remembers kissing and laughing and having the time of his life with Donghae and it shows on the screen that's above them. He gets caught up in the memories and almost falls back into them until Donghae crawls on his knees and towers over Kyuhyun.

“That's why I'm not scared,” Donghae tells him when he pushes Kyuhyun down with kisses and Kyuhyun can feel and hear the walls breaking around them.

“Donghae, you're going to break the bubble-” Kyuhyun tries to warn him, but the bubble pops before he can finish his sentence. The bubble disappears, and so do they.

Kyuhyun wakes up in Donghae's bed, where they're in a heap of limps. He rubs the spot on his head where it collided with Donghae's ribcage and looks at the body that's he's laying on top of.

“Did you have the same dream as me?” he implores.

“I think I did,” Donghae replies slowly.

“Oh,” Kyuhyun doesn't go further into the subject. He relaxes his head onto Donghae's chest and they stare up at the ceiling, still wondering about what just happened to them.

“It was a good dream,” Kyuhyun declares and closes his eyes again, trying to stick themselves back in the magic bubble.

All he gets is cherished memories and Donghae's arms around him. And that...

That's good, too.
