Coming out

Aug 10, 2008 20:42

So, I came out to my mother as bisexual last night.  I have been wanting to do this for weeks now and I finally did it.  I started off the conversation with, "Mom, what do you have against homosexuals?"  I asked her this question because of seeing her reaction to Katy Perry's song about kissing a girl also on seeing the preview of an episode on Army Wives showing the women making out.  She told me that she doesn't hate homosexuals and that she just doesn't think that's how God intended.  During our conversation I asked her what she would do if I came home with a woman.  She said she would get to know her, then sit me down and talk to me about what the Bible says.  Well, our conversation ended and I still hadn't told her.  I did a combination of hold my breath, counting to ten, taking deep breaths, about to say it... then holding my breath.. LOL.  Then I said, "I think I'm  bisexual."  She asked me why and i said because I'm attracted to both men and women.  After that she jumped into talking about God and the Bible and how she thinks that men and women are to be together and not men together or women together.  After that nothing really happened, I just went to bed.  Things today seem fine between us today, and it's a weight off my chest.  My dad doesn't really know, I'm scared to tell him actually.  More so that he will kick me out more than him being disappointed in me and I just can't live on my own right now.  I want to start coming out more now and I want to get some bi-pride stuff!

So, that's my coming out story for telling my mom.
