Great, he thought to himself as he opened the door and made his way into the lounge, this was beginning to sound like a cheesy horror movie.
Notes: This didn’t seem so good when I was writing it, but I still liked the idea :X Constructive criticism and comments are hugely welcomed!!
It was Friday 13th February, and nothing scary had happened. To be honest, nothing had happened at all. Normally Kai would be thankful for the peace and quiet, but, today seemed so uneventful, so lonely, so boring. He had to do something, ANYTHING.
"11pm, ehh, I wonder if he’s still awake." He uttered, reaching for his phone.
Before he’d even began to dial the number, a text flashed on the screen.
Pressing read, a smile plastered on his face at the irony; just the person he wanted.
"Come over, I have a surprise
MYV x"
Kai and Miyavi had been friends for years, and he thought he knew everything about his companion, but now and again, the other always did something that he didn‘t expect, and today seemed to be one of those days.

After the short drive to Miyavi’s house, Kai initial suspiciousness was brought to an all time high when he noticed the note pinned to the door.
"Open up and let yourself in. Find the table by the front window, read the letter and follow the directions. You have till Midnight to complete it…"
Great, he thought to himself as he opened the door and made his way into the lounge, this was beginning to sound like a cheesy horror movie.
Sure enough, illuminated by the moonlight seeping through the glass, he could see the letter.
"If you’re clever, you’ll work this out, no doubt you are, so please don’t pout.
What has a face, but no smile, hands but no arms?"
"The clock?"
At least this one was kind of easy. If they were all like this he’d have no problem.
Miyavi’s house was extremely fancy, he’d gone through a stage of liking old English furniture and had a large grandfather clock in his hallway.
Retracing his steps out the lounge, he stood in front of the clock. Surely the note was here somewhere…
After a few minutes of staring at the wooden ornament, he saw a piece of paper sticking out from behind. Lucky I have good eyesight he silently mocked.
"Okay smart guy, now for a toughie.
What tells stories, but has no lips?"
"A BOOK!"
Quickly feeling a little embarrassed by his eagerness, he could’ve sworn he heard Miyavi laugh from wherever he was hiding at that point; But even Kai himself had to admit, this was kinda fun. Even though it was already 11.43 and he was running out of time.
Luckily Miyavi wasn’t a big fan of books, he only had a few casually scattered around the house, mostly for decoration purposes.

Once he was back in the lounge, Kai skimmed the room, searching for that one book Miyavi treasured. His eyes set on it instantly, an envelope peeping out from the slightly raised front cover.
Kai pulled out the letter and grappled inside. Pulling the object out, his eyes suddenly shot open. Now he was just confused…What was the key for? A door? A trap? A scowl began to form on his tanned face, he sure hoped not. Remembering the note, he set the mysterious key in his pocket and progressed to read.
"Have a reward for your smartness. Only one more to go now, okay?
What has a tick, but no tock?"
"A tick but no tock?!"
Now Miyavi was just playing with him. He wondered how the other had gotten so good at riddles. Only a while ago he had given him the conundrum "I am a big sunny thing in the sky, what am I?" 3 guesses what it could have been…
"A tick but no tock…a tick? No tock…Atick? ATTIC?!"
He didn’t even know Miyavi HAD an attic. Running up the stairs, he searched the ceiling for a trap door. Maybe this was what the key was for.
He was so engaged wondering what could’ve been behind the trap door, he didn’t see the note hanging from the ceiling until it hit him in the face. Pulling it down, he gazed up, sure enough, there was the entrance to the attic, but no key hole?
"Guess the key’s for something else then." sounding even more baffled than earlier.
"You’re so close, but not done yet, the seconds are ticking away.
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.
Oh you want the clue now right? Well TOUGH, mwahahahaha~
…
Okay, just kidding. Find my favourite place and you’ll find what you seek."
Kai tried to think, he thought of the bedroom, but Miyavi wasn’t that kind of guy. In all the years they’d known each other, Miyavi had never had many girlfriends. He couldn’t actually remember Miyavi having ONE girlfriend… He thought about the lounge, Miya always loved soppy movies, he could just imagine him now watching some love fest whilst eating chicken.
"Eating! That’s it! The kitchen!!!"
It was so simple, Miyavi was ALWAYS eating. Ever since they’d first met, Kai had instantly noticed this, yet he always seemed to stay so thin.
"Lucky bastard…"
Kai had to work for his body, whereas his best friend could eat for
7 days straight and still have a body to die for.

He realised after a while he’d been so distracted thinking about Miyavi’s physique that he’d walked straight past his original destination. Doubling back on himself, he led himself into the kitchen, stopping in his tracks as he focused on the candle lit table. He was certain this wasn’t like this when he arrived; well at least now he knew Miyavi was in the house.
The familiar sight of paper on the table caught his attention, and once again, he started to read.
"Close your eyes and wait for the clock to strike midnight, then and only then, look behind you."
Making himself comfy on one of the dining table’s chairs, he closed his eyes and waited for the chime. If this was a joke and Miyavi was going to jump out and scare him, he’d sure make him pay. After all this time and effort, he wanted his prize.
Before long enough, the clock struck midnight. Opening his eyes and readjusting himself in his chair, he watched as a recognisable dark figure appeared at the doorway. At first he thought he was naked, but his eyes soon caught sight of the brightly coloured boxer shorts.
"Is that my treasure?"
Chuckling to himself; great, all this work for his best friend in some pink hearts underwear.
With only a cheeky grin and a mumbled curse as a warning, the half naked man walked forward and pulled Kai up off his chair. Before he could react, the taller male leaned his head down and kissed him. Nibbling at Kai’s bottom lip, a silent request for entrance, the stunned drummer parted his lips, greeted by a hungry tongue. A low whimper erupted from his throat, apparently his body knew what was going on before his brain did. Adjusting to the rapid intrusion, Kai kissed back, sucking on Miyavi’s tongue and swallowing the other’s moans.
Breathlessly pulling back after a heated few minutes (at this point, Kai mentally despised the need for air) he looked into Miyavi’s eyes. They were filled with so much emotion, he could tell Miya was scared, waiting for a reaction. Kai didn’t trust his voice to assure the other man it was okay, all he could form in his mind were jumbled sentences that really didn’t make sense.
(But who’s to say if Miyavi could or couldn’t have understood "Kiss..ahhh…MIYAVI!…ooo!"?)
Sensing the sudden coldness circling his neck (and the unusually dopey grin adjourning his face), he looked down; It took him a while to place it, he knew the necklace was from somewhere. He knew it… After a long pause, Miyavi finally broke the silence.
"You gave it me when we were very young. I was ill and you thought I was dying." a low chuckle emitted from the tall man. "I only had a cold. You gave me the necklace and told me I couldn’t die, not if I had the magic necklace. I just hope the magic still works…" trailing off as tears filled his passionate eyes.
Kai just stood there, reliving those memories, his mind running wild with flashbacks, he couldn’t believe he’d actually kept the necklace, after all these years. His mind stopped, suddenly noticing he was staring at the other man, gawping like some kind of mental patient. He had to talk, make some sound, for gods sake mind, work!
"Err…I…ngh.."
Great, now he SOUNDED like a mental patient. Silently cursing himself, he remembered one of the clues from earlier. The clock, the prize, the key… Fumbling in his pocket, his produced the metal key and held it out.
"What’s this for?"
Miyavi smiled sweetly before a subtle tint of rose glazed his cheeks. Kai hadn’t realised it before, but Miyavi looked utterly adorable when he blushed.
"That, well… that’s the key to my heart."
He sounded nervous, almost regretting his moment of corniness.
Kai’s face lit up, a huge smile forming on his mouth before leaning in and grasping Miyavi tightly. A sudden rush of emotion left him speechless once more, so burying his face in the taller man’s neck seemed like a better idea.
"It’s February 14th."
Miyavi whispered, placing a small kiss on his the shorter man’s head before running his hand through his hair.
A mumbled "Happy Valentine’s Day Miya-San" came in response, taking Miyavi by
surprise at the sudden change in Kai’s voice. It sounded like he was crying, but he chose to let the other express his emotions for a while. All of this had been so sudden for the other, he figured he needed time.
"Happy Merry Valentine~"
