So I saw that Del! had done something awesome and useful, and I decided that I would do it too! Joy of joys.
Okay so, what is Nica's power? Vitakinesis.
What does this cover? Everything! No, rly. This girl can control or change or stop or WHATEVER any part of your body. And her own.
Whoa, that's kind of a major power. Don't you have any limits to it? Glad you asked that! Everything that Nica does to you (or herself) is temporary -- with two exceptions. If she heals you, you'll stay healed (until the next monster takes a chunk out of your ass, I mean). If she kills you...well, you'll stay dead. Say if she inflicted upon you a horrible -- but slow -- disease; you would suffer for a while (maybe a couple of days), but then it would go away like it never happened. You would be back at square one. HOWEVER. If she were to give you a disease that will kill you within a few days--or faster--you are probably fucked.
Nica, for her part, is a nice girl. She's not likely to kill anyone -- and in fact it has not quite registered that she can. More on that soon. For other examples of things she could do to you that are temporary...she could change the colour of your eyes, change your sex (WHAT NO no rly), give you a tail...
What other limits are there? All the energy that Nica uses to do the things she does come from her. That means the bigger and more dramatic the manipulation, the more energy she uses, the more it wears her out. It is possible that if she did something on a really grand scale, it would kill her.
It would kill her? Yeah! She'd use up all her energy and just stop living. Actually, one day, this will happen regardless -- Nica's lifespan is significantly shortened by the fact she's running on her own steam. One day, she will just run out. When this happens -- she'll make it to forty, tops (she may not age that dramatically on her way to this, given she can control everything about her body and is vain) -- she'll pass out and never wake up again, and then she will die. She doesn't know this.
Wait, it sounds like there's a lot she doesn't know about her powers...? That's right. Nica has learned everything she has learned about her powers through experimentation and finding out she can do things as they become necessary. Killing people? Well, that's never been necessary, and she's not the kind of person to experiment like that.
So what does she use her powers for? Just between you and me? Keeping herself healthy (which is easy-peasy for a girl like her), healing the occasional cut or scrape...and uh, aesthetics. Who needs make up when you can just change the colour of anything you want, etc. She saves a lot of money on hair dye! Occasionally she gives herself a boob job for a few days! Things like that.
That sounds like a waste of an impressive power. That is just the kind of girl she is.
What are some examples of things she might learn how to do through the course of the game? Well, previous example -- killing people in many varied creative ways is right up there. She's pretty laid-back, but she also has no real problem with killin' folk who deserve killin'. She might learn more intricate ways of healing peoples, and--most interestingly--she could temporarily bestow (or remove) powers that are caused by genetics. Example:
St John: *is an ass*
Nica: *decides he would be cooler if he had no fiery powerz*
St John: *goes without the fire manipulation he has for a couple days, and learns nothing from it because he is a teenage boy*
