To a certain extent, the way I feel about Elizabethtown is how I feel about Barry Lyndon. Elizabethtown had flaws, a couple that were huge gaping wounds, but I can forgive them. The film was very personal and endearing and that overruled any harsh review that I could possibly give it. It has stuck with me and that is more than I can say for the films I have seen this year that I consider much better.
