Music.....

I think today, I am going to clean house, do laundry and CHILL.

This week has been a week of extreme challenge, and this weekend my group has to travel to Beloit to minister in song at New Life Church. So that starts tomorrow. Need to wash my hair, and I need to pack. I also need to go to JCPennys and take this shirt I bought back.

I got this CD of this group called Group 1 Crew. Its like a christian version of the Black Eyed Peas. And heres my question. I know that there is a little bit of controversy as it relates to Christian Artists sounding like the world. But how does it affect you?

For me, and this is personally, I think that since before I really got saved (yeah I grew ip in church, so I called myself saved, but really didnt live like it for a long time) I used to be a club head. I liked thumping music with a beat. So I appreciate that I can listen to something that is similar and not have to compromise my integrity, I dont have to fill my head with junk, and I can still honor the Lord and have a good time doing it.

I also think that, it makes serving the Lord more appealing to the lost. Not that we want to commercialize christianity, but I have talked to people and one of the main reasons why they dont pursue and active relationship with God is because the get "BORED". I have a friend that was a hard core christian that didnt compromise her salvation, BUT she dealt heavily with lonliness issues in college because she didnt want to associate with the impurity of the world. But eventually the impurity is what she turned to, because she said that being saved got harder because she was an active teen in every other areas of her life, except her relationship with God. It was dry and lifeless.

What do you think, do you think that it is dishonoring the Lord if we take something that would be considered "ungodly" and use it in the Kingdom? Or do you live by the philosophy that the wealth of the wicked ( not just money, but creativity and wisdom) is truly laid up (waiting )for the righteous (to take hold of it).

Do you think, especially for teens, that the christian music thats out now (the more street edged)
is helping the body or hurting the body of Christ?

Let me know what you think.
