Decade in Review
I'll do a year in review thingie eventually. But I liked the quick format one of my LJ friends did for a decade in review so I decided to steal that foramt.
2000: Started in the middle of my freshman year in high school. Took theater arts class and became friends with one of my best friends, Stan. Met Damon through him. Got my first SLR camera.
2001: Competed with color guard in Virginia Beach and won first place. Got named color guard captain for the next 2 years. Got my driver's license. Came down with mono which caused my doctor to discover I have sleep apnea. Got my first job at McDonald's.
2002: Quit McDonald's and started working at Pizzeria Regina. Got my first car, my red 1990 Mazda MX6. Had my first surgery, my tonsils and adenoids were removed. Started dating Damon. Took a photography class at The Hartford Art School. Got accepted into the only college I applied to, School of Visual Arts in New York City.
2003: Turned 18. Got my first 2 tattoos. Graduated high school. Got my wisdom teeth removed. Started my first year of college at SVA as a photography major. Moved to New York City.
2004: Transferred to Holyoke Community College. Damon broke up with me. Joined the Come Again Players, a Rocky Horror shadow cast. Started working at the HCC Bookstore. Got next 2 tattoos.
2005: Started dating Miseph. Had to get rid of my first car and got my current one. Moved to Sunderland with Miseph and Kiernan. Got my first mouse, Fay Wray. Got another tattoo. Took a road trip to Florida with CAP people. End of December was the last time I worked at Pizzeria Regina.
2006: Graduated from Holyoke Community College. Started at UMass Amherst as an Art Education major. Turned 21. Got my first digital SLR camera. Adopted my bunny, Claude Rains.
2007: Fay Wray died. Started the beginning of the end of my Bachelor's degree, my pre practicum. Started going to conventions.
2008: Student taught at Granby Jr/Sr High School and Van Sickle Middle School. Got licensed to teach Visual Arts for grades PreK-12. Graduated from UMass Amherst with my Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree.Mispeh and I moved to Belchertown. Flew for the first time when I traveled to Costa Rica. Long-term subbed for the art teacher at East Meadow School. Reconnected with Damon.
2009: Started working as a paraprofessional at Granby Jr/Sr High School. Also long-term subbed for the art teacher at West Street School. Helped Tegan get Happy Hour Burlesque off the ground. Joined Genetic Imperfection. Celebrated 5 years with the Come Again Players. Got hired as the 7th and 8th grade art teacher and life skills paraprofessional at Granby Jr/Sr High School. Got my 6th tattoo.
