So I was delivering mail a few weeks ago and the neighborhood was having big trash day. If you don't know, this is when everyone gets to be white trash without the HOA getting all huffy. I drove down the street seeing garish sparkly halloween costumes, old appliances, pots, pans, tree branches, and a wide assortment of things people generally tend to want to get rid of, but are too lazy to gather and transport to the dump. I don't see throwing away a whole set of old, but perfe3ctly functional pots and pans, but that's what was going on. Anyhow, one pile had a bike in it. Obviously sort of rusty and in need of general maintenance, i decided that if it was still there when i returned the next day, it would end up in my possession. I don't know why i do that. It's not like i need a sign or anything. Why didn't i just take it? It was trash, next to a dishwasher. I have no moral problem with taking something someone else threw out. I also dont think it's gross, unless it's food or underwear. The next day, it was still there and i took it. It's a red cruiser, and pretty nice, despite the issues that come with a lack of use. I'm just telling this story because I'm kind of excited to have a bike now. Off to PRACTICE.
