Harry Potter Fic Recommendations
Now, I know I recommended you some HP fics here and there before but I bet you all ignored most of those. You have to trust me, if I rec something, I really, really love it. So please give these a try because they'll make you cry and laugh and then cry some more...they'll make you smile and they'll break your heart. Every single one of these is special in its own way. And they're all amazing.
Ron/Hermione (and sometimes Harry/Ginny, too)
Title: Not as a Last Resort
Summary: Hermione and Ron, a snowstorm, and Hagrid's cabin. Takes place during fifth year.
Quote: "There were more footsteps, then the sound of breathing above her, very close to the bed. Hermione's heart leapt into her throat. He was about to lie down next to her."
My notes: It's just the sweetest piece of fic I have ever read. I think it's my fav R/Hr fic...I can't stop smiling every time I read it, I just can't. Aw, Ron.
Title: Getting the Point
Summary: Sequel to 'Not As a Last Resort'. Hermione and Ron at the Yule Ball, fifth year.
Quote: "Hermione raised her chin and bravely met Ron’s eyes. They were surprisingly serious, and their expression made Hermione feel unaccountably safe. And lost. She looked into them for as long as she could stand it, then dropped her gaze to his neck. Ron caught a sharp breath and looked over the top of her head."

Summary: They are close enough that they can almost touch. Almost. (HBP spoilers)

My notes: Wow, just wow. It's not a light, happy fic. It's dark and heavy and sad and so painfully beautiful. It a must read, guys, I'm not kidding.
Title: Save Me (actually, it's H/G with ocassional R/Hr)
Summary: Since Voldemort's demise, Harry has been a different person, shutting out everyone who loves him. Ginny wants to help, but she might get more than she ever bargained for.

My notes: Angsty. Hot. Addictive. A must read.

Summary: *Sequel to Save Me* Ron Weasley thinks his life is nearly complete, until his past returns, calling his perfectly planned out future into question.
Quote: "Hermione held the shirt up to her face, knowing full well that the scent of him had long faded. She had clung to that shirt for the past two years as if it were all she had left of Ron. In a way, it sort of was."
My notes: You know you love angst and this fic? Is full of it. And it's so well written *nods*

Summary: A short summer ficlet. Harry takes a swim and Ron gets in trouble. Summer before 5th Year. #1 in the Heat Series.

My notes: Aw, it's so sweet and sexy! And short, but so much fun.

My notes: It's such a sweet piece, a must read! It's really nicely written and gives so much hope. Aw.

Title: Happy Hour
Summary: The war has ended for them. Ron and Harry are at the point where they can be the kind of people to forgive Draco Malfoy for all that he's done. But she's not sure if she's that kind of person. And she's not sure if she wants to be that kind of person.
Quote: "“Because you don’t do that anymore. I look at you, and I see my . . . best friend. You know? It sucks to say it out loud because it’s embarrassing . . . but . . . there you go.” He gave Draco the manly shoulder punch. “Just . . . FYI.”
It made Draco smile. A lot. He looked at Ron’s outstretched hand. He reached out and touched the tips of his bloody fingers to Ron’s own blood-tinged ones. He curled his hand in, holding onto his bud’s fingers. And he sort of let Ron Weasley pull him in so that they nearly knocked heads. One clap on the back. Another. Three.
Harry ruined their moment by hobbling up with his bucket of dead fish. “I’m stuck with a dead fish and you guys are fucking bonding without me? Typical!”
“Drop your bucket,” Ron muttered, clunking foreheads painfully with Draco. His arm flailed out blinding, trying to catch a hold of Harry Potter’s head. He found it.
Harry dropped the bucket.
Ron pulled him, by the scalp, into their circle of . . . circle of . . . something.
“Aw . . . group hug.”
“We should do this every week. It’s fun.”
“We should.”
“You really do smell nice, Potty.” Draco audibly sniffed his hair.
Ron coquettishly kissed Harry on the cheek.
Harry went crazy and simultaneously shoved the both of them away from him, yelling about how they were so mean to him.
My notes: It's just...god, it's wonderful. It's one of the best Harry Potter fics of all time. It's D/Hr eventually but it's also a story about amazingly written relationship between Ron, Harry and Draco. So it's a story about friendship and sacrifice and need to belong somewhere. And it's a story about overwhelming passion. Yes, it's long but please, give it a try. It'll make you cry and it'll make you laugh so hard and...yeah, it's powerful stuff, very powerful stuff. A.MUST.READ.

And no, it's not a joke :-P My hair is a bit shorter and I don't have such cool socks (although I want to buy them someday) but I actually have a skirt like this one. I think I was a little, tiny bit disappointed after listening to it for the 1st time. I mean, I love some of those (Someday You Will Be Loved, What Sarah Said...) but some of them are kind of...well, not what I expected. Or hoped for. I don't think it's their best album but I still like it.
