The painting is finally up! Parkway Place Mall. At the bottom of the escalators at the main entrance. There won't be any pictures for a while because you have to see it for yourself and let us know what you think.
I went to Cullman tonight for a fundraiserdinnerthing to support an Orphanage in Kenya. I almost cried 3 times when they kept showing slideshows of adorable kids. The guy who built the first Orphanage there not too long ago built it because his daughter started sending money to this boy named Newton when she was 16, and had been sending the money and saving up to go visit this little boy for 3 years, but she got murdered. So her Dad decided to go over and find Newton for her and while he was there he realized there was no Orphanage, so he built one. I think my parents are looking into helping out and going to Kenya this next year. I really want to go because I think it would be amazing.. and sad, but I will feel good knowing that I'm helping some. We were talking to one of the ladies who went this year and she said that they handed the people school supplies and the people handed them a chicken or a goat in return because they are thankful and that's part of what they do. You give them something, they give you something. We watched a video they made and the kids are always singing. It's just sad because a lot of their parents have died from AIDS and things and all they have is a rock that fits in the palm of your hand to mark where their parents are buried (that was something that almost made me cry). We prayed a lot and a choir sang really cool African songs and did I mention I brought Sarah? Yes. She goes to weird events like this with me and I'm surprised she's still my friend, but we had a good time I think. I don't know why I feel like such a good person after going tonight, but I do and I can't believe I ALMOST tried to find a way out of going just because I didn't want to go to Cullman.
