i'm doing graphic design. i chose auburn because, like i said- the private art schools are nice, i'm sure, but GOD that's a lotta money and in order for me to stay in-state and still do graphic design, i felt like auburn has the best program. and it's a somewhat well-known school (which will help me get jobs). and it's in a small town (which i don't really like) but it's not that far from bham and atlanta. and i've really liked almost all of my teachers so far, which is great. the graphic design program here is really competitive (which means you have to make good grades to get in and stay in) but it's great.
i think montevallo is more fine-arts oriented (painting, ceramics, photography), and i wouldn't want to go to a small school in a town that doesn't even have a wal-mart. but that's just me.
if you aren't 100% gung-ho about doing art in college, there are some other cool majors you can think about. i know some peope doing industrial design which is totally challenging but SUPER cool (and still artsy - they design furniture and products and stuff). and then there's always architecture (also insanely hard though), zoology, psychology and anthropology and.. the list goes on!

haha! it's cool. but really, thanks. graphic design is actually what i'm wanting to do, but then i looked at montevallo for the fine arts and thought about that. ahhhfdhlsg i guess i will eventually figure it out. i guess i have a little more time to think about it because i'm more than likely taking a year off to travel. but college is kind of a big deal in this family and i'm sick of them asking me what i'm going to do with my life.
