if you can find your way back to me...

The sun was setting and I was standing in what was to become my temple to Elua, thinking. The ground had been mostly cleared before the snows came, thanks to several days' work at weeding, and though it was covered in a soft blanket of white, I could see in my mind's eye where each piece was to make its home-- here, a bench; there, a fountain; everywhere flowers and trees and signs of life. The one thing I had not yet figured out how to obtain was the statue; there was precious little in the way of clay here, and I was no fool to imagine marble more easily gotten.

But I knew that problem could wait. Just then I was simply taking it all in, pacing the ground slowly as if I could feel it already covered with grass, turning slowly with my eyes half closed, picturing it when it was complete, and I might come here and feel the touch of my god's hand to my brow once more. It had begun to snow again, lightly, and I was glad for the gloves and scarf I'd brought, though my woolen gown and coat were more than enough to protect me from the snow. Still I was loath to leave, so wrapped up in my thoughts that I did not hear footsteps behind me until the watcher on my reverie spoke.
