So I never come to this site. I'm over it I guess.
We're living in Pgh... not much else to say. Working on the house (slowly... very slowly), working at WFM and Hil as a nanny in Mt. Lebanon. I am as reclusive as ever, although I did force myself out of the house this morning to skateboard the Polish Hill bowl... it's been a looooong time since i've skated. Mainly pushed around and got the feeling of it again. But I have a sinus infection so that didn't last too long. Now I'm sitting here waiting for some guy to come measure our bedroom for carpet.
I still miss Portland, or course... but it's not like it was when we first moved here... when my heart ACHED for Portland. I have accepted my location and am trying to make the best of it. I still think of the what-if's and could-have-beens of not moving... sometimes. But this is where I live now. In this house... rarely leaving.. rarely meeting friends or going for a night on the town. When allergy season is over I am going to walk to downtown often. That's another reason I sit in here in front of the TV/computer rather than out on the porch at least... allergies. they are nowhere near as bad here as they were in PDX... but they still get to me. Imagine having to put up with those AND a sinus infection (my second of the season thank you)... pure hell. I had not been sick in a looooog time until I moved here. I don't know if the poorer quality of air or what... but man it sucks. I remember getting on people at work in PDX because they were always sick and calling off.. and now I know what it feels like. I still go to work sick, though.. even when I shouldn't. It's bad.. yeah yeah yeah.. I can get other people sick/spread it... but we need the money and I'd rather be at work than sitting on my ass at home sick. Anyways...
We went to mexico for our long overdue hoeymoon mid April. Puerto Vallarta. it was.... fun. Definately relaxing. But it got boring and let's face it... Hil nd I aren't hot weather/beach people. We can hack it for a couple days.. maybe a few days if it's the pacific nw coast.. but man... that town was all the same. Every shop.. every restaurant... becuase it was popularized by tourism. That's the only reason it exists now. Just not our cup of tea... but at least we tried it and know, now. We did some fun things... parasailing, riding ziplines through the jungle.. I bungee jumped over the ocean... drank all day. But other than that... boring. We were glad to get back home.
So anyways... maybe I'll come around here more often. I think I need to type things out more... get them out of my head somehow. We'll see.. but for now I'm going to go finish the dishes.
