MANIFEST DESTINY

Guess where I do not live anymore?

Yeah, I moved back to Australia few days ago. Lame, eh? There were reasons.

Things just didn't pan out the way I expected, in a whole manner of ways. Mostly it was my fault - I moved for stupid reasons, and was pretty much running away from dumbass problems, only to make more for myself. Nice work, loser. Dating cheating, lying jackasses didn't help things either. Good shot for the ol' self esteem, that.

Also, I got fired from a shitty job because I had no "passion" for it. I think the fact that I told my boss that "a receptionist isn't a real career" probably only sweetened my time there. Sarcasm and honesty has to prevail when you spend great hunking portions of your working day spinning around your office chair, making fuck-ugly websites (that you are MADE to put your name on, no less. Kill me, google!) and downloading as much music and videos as you can because stealing is fun.

The t-shirt, too, haha. I made it (ripped off the design though, because I am not as witty as I make out, right). Toronto and I just didn't click. Don't get me wrong; she was a real looker of a city, selling herself to me in all a manner of ways, but not unlike other issues - there was just no spark. There were fireworks, though - I saw them often - but no burning desire the way I'd suspected there might be. I will really, really, REALLY fucking miss Kom Jug Yuen though. If I were ever sentenced to Death Row, my last meal would be Kom Jug's Shrimp Fried Rice and BBQ Pork Fried Noodles.

Kensington Market, Don Valley Brickworks, Trinity Bellwoods Park, Dufferin Mall, Scotiabank Theatre, Silver Snail, Hairy Tarantula. I'll miss those places especially. Chinatown I'll fucking miss. I loved walking though there - I felt so tall, and so white. Same as the Chinese malls. I should have stocked up on more four dollar "back-up copy" dvds while I had the damn chance.

I will also miss the cheap food and comics and toys, but I will not miss the shitty drivers, having to step to avoid being spit on in the street, the general rudeness of a lot of people, and probably a bunch of other stuff. I think that coming home to my family (even though they're suffocating me already), dog, and my homes away from home (Game Traders, Myer and Target, ya hear me!) make up for that stuff.

Oh, and I did spend a really awesome week in Vancouver and China, too.

AND right now I could SLAY for a burger and chips from KFC. How bad is that? I ate KFC a couple times in Toronto, but it was so goddamned horredous that I darn nearly puked. I never realised that Australian fast food is actually pretty good until I tasted that reheated, day-old crap. But, my own senses of stubborness (I eat a lot better these days and want to keep at it) and vanity (I've lost weight and want to keep at that, too, at least for another 10lbs) are going to prevail.

For now.

Pig.

FUCK, this is a painfully boring entry. It's like someone inviting you over to watch fucking slideshows of their holiday;
"Here I am at McDonalds in Canada - crazy! Oh, and here's me looking like a douchebag at the CN Tower/Niagara Falls/standing beside a homeless person."
"You know I don't really care about any of this, right?"

Sorry.

MEGAN. Thank you for the pins! It arrived the day after I got back, I think, and I was pretty thrilled to get a fun package so soon. I'll be mailing your goodness out this week.

I made a little montage (ugh) from some of the hours of footage I'd filmed over the last few months. I really should have started earlier, but yet again, my intrinsic sense of retrospect makes a fool of me. There'll be more videos soon, probably of a more upbeat nature. Aaron, you're in this, so watch it.

I really ought to sort through the (no shit) 7256 hi-res photos I took over the last six months that are slowing my laptop down to impotent-grandfather speed. I probably SHOULD do that. But I'm not going to, because the allure of watching Ben Stiller get yelled at by Mickey Rooney, drinking scotch and reading Jeffrey Max's blog is far more rewarding. And by rewarding, I mean easy.

I am such a winner.

Out, yo.

ps - Winter, Australia? REALLY?
