Healing with the Ancestors
We’ve been Ancestors before
Old Souls washed upon Life’s shore
As we move toward Autumn, the time of death and the thinning of the veils between the living and the dead, we consider our own lives, our Purpose for being and what must be allowed to die in us so we might move forward unencumbered. Our thoughts also turn toward our Ancestors whose blood and DNA we carry.
Who are your Ancestors and what relationship do you have with them? Over time, I have listened to many students who live alternative lifestyles and/or practice non-Judeo-Christian spiritualities express concern that their Ancestors would not understand or approve of their life choices. Others worry that calling upon blood Ancestors who’ve committed or been oppressed by acts we consider outside our ethics (slavery, colonialism, imperialism, war and other abuses great and small), or have been afflicted by more personal demons (alcoholism, domestic violence, etc) would carry that negativity right into their spiritual practice and personal lives. This intensive offers both deep work and simple practices which will help us realign with our Ancestry, generating powerful allies and mutual exchange of Life Force/Mana/Chi between the Living and the Dead.
Healing with the Ancestors is a deeply intensive workshop involving:
· Clearing Relationship Issues the practitioner may still carry with the newly dead
· Clearing the Bloodline of Ancestral Complexes for ourselves and our descendents
· Offering Forgiveness to the Dead
· Offering Gratitude to the Dead
· Creating Alliances with Our Ancestors
· Creating peace with Ancestors who, while embodied, may not have approved of our choices
· Receiving and Integrating Life Force from the Ancestors
· Discussions on Ancestor Worship Cross-culturally
· Creating and Maintaining Ancestral Shrines
· Bringing the Ancestors into the Daily Round of the Household
· Maintaining relationships with the Dead beyond Samhain
This Intensive takes place in an online classroom setting. Notes, topics for discussion and assignments are posted weekly to the forum. Participants are responsible for receiving them, completing assignments and posting to the classroom forum. All assigned reading will be available online. There is no requirement to be online at a specific time to “attend” the class. I do ask that those registering be able to commit to immersing yourselves in this powerfully transformational process. This is not Beginner Level work.
