Today *ended up* being pretty cool.
Okay, so I woke up at around 1 PM.. first my alarm went off; then Kris called me, asking me if I wanted to go eat with him; then my cell phone alarm went off.. this all happened in less than 1 minute.. got ready and made it just in time before Kinsolving closed. (I always get up at the latest possible time, especially since I went to bed at about 7:30 AM yesterday.... downloading J-rock. ^^;; Yeah, I know I'm bad.. real bad.)
Bleh.. then as I was walking back from Kinsolving, something awful happened. Um.. yeah.. if you've ever thought that getting your food stolen from the refrigerators at Math Camp was bad.. try
a bike.
I'm not kidding.. that was one of the worst feelings that I've had in a while.. kinda angry, slightly gloomy, and very, very panicky. *siiigh*.. apparently anywhere from 3-10 bikes get stolen per day.. daaaamn.. fucking shady UT bitches. -_-;;
Alright.. well, it took me a while to get over that, but I still had a lot of other things to do (well, mainly pick up my French/Comp. Sci. books), so James (Math Camp.. not to be confused with UT James), Kris (Math Camp.. lol, I told UT James about Kris, and he claimed that it was the name of a sword.. I looked it up on dictionary.com, and indeed it is "a Malayan dagger with a wavy double-edged blade"), and James's friend Ali all went to the Co-op to buy some stuff, and then they went with me to the other Co-op, but the Co-op people freakin' left the books somewhere else, so I guess I'll have to get up at the insanely early time of 7 AM to walk over there and pick 'em up.. gahhh that's stupid. Ooh! While I was at the Co-op, we ran into this girl Amy, who was apparently an old Math Camper as well.. and yeah, she seems to be pretty neat.
Blehhh.. then we went around to Prathers 'cause James needed to pick up someone's shoes or something.. (not sure).. and along the way, we met Amy's friend Tim.. and I also saw my roomie Rene from Orientation! OMG that was sooo cool! So yeah.. had a nice little chat with her for a while. ♥ After the shoes, Tim went to the library to read The Iliad (which I personally thought was one of the most boring books ever), and so James, Kris, and I walked back to James's room. Bleh.. Carothers is nice.. but Whitis is still definitely the largest.. woohoo! I do like how they have air conditioning which they can control and how they have a vanity/sink area. That'd come in handy, but actually, it's not bad for me 'cause I live right across from the bathroom, w00t!
Okay, so then we walk over to this arcade where Kris and James played DDR (and BTW, James pwned that DDR machine like you would not believe).. and then on to 7-11 to get slurpies.. yay! They're sooo good! .. and we went to James's room and stayed there for a really long time. James and Kris kept talking about these video games, and I just sat there and looked at the TV once in a whlie. Bleh, then Kris made me play this silly amusing game called Pitfalls or something.. lol.. it's especially amusing watching someone mess up and making fun of the person. James left for a while (I'm not sure how long, but it felt like 2 hours or something), and Kris and I .. um.. sat there for a while, talking and making faces at each other.. lol.
Then James came back, and we all went to my room to drop off this DVD that Kris burned for me.. and I showed Kris the Requiem for a Dream poster that I'd bought. Well, we were hungry, so we went to Mr. Gatti's for pizza.. and that was okay.. and we spent a while looking for a parking place for Kris where he wouldn't get his car towed away. He ended up paying $10 or something at this box thing that took folded up bills.. o_o;; Bleh.. it was super ghetto.. even more ghetto than the Valley. o_O;
Yeah okay.. so now I'm back at Whitis, French book-less, so I'll have to run to the Co-op between Math and French (thank god I have an hour in between). Oh dear.. just now, a girl came in with some questions about BC stuff (L'Hopital's rule and Improper Integrals).. I looked at the stuff, and my head spun.. and she was like, "Yeah, it's been 3 months since I've taken AB.", and I was like, "Um.. it's been 2 years since I've taken BC."
So yeah, spending the day with Kris, James, and various friends of theirs was fun.. and yay! I'd wanted someone special to visit me, and it happened! *points to mood icon*
[edit]: Ahhh! I hate these awesome people who put up sooo many J-rock mp3s and how UT has an uberfast connection (well, if you pay for ResNet and not use the free wireless). I don't think people understand just how dangerous it is for a hardcore J-rock fan to have access to gazillions of mp3s and an extremely fast connection. *checks* I've grabbed about 2+ gigs worth of music the past 2 nights. *sigh* I'm going to have to force myself to go bed by 3 AM tho 'cause I have to get up by 7 AM tomorrow both for class and to hopefully get a chance to run to the Texas Union Student Center to grab Dalai Lama tickets (bet you anything that they'll be gone tho.. free tickets, I should add). :|
