I know this summer has changed my life, but I don't quite know the extent of it. I lived in France and LA and tried to really live it to the best of my ability. Every day, I try to figure out who I am and who I want to become. I unfortunately have regrets, but I know I always learn from my mistakes. This is an experience I will always take with me- I will never let it go.
France- I loved it. I loved taking the bus to the center of town and walking around and seeing all the people and all the little shops and walking to Monoprix and buying baguettes. It was so amazing to live literally a stones throw from the ocean. It was such a relaxing thing to do, to go down and swim or buy a bottle of wine and just sit on the beach talking and drinking. Learning the language, listening to it everyday.. it was great. Just being able to relax and not feel as if I had to be constantly moving was great too. One of my favorite parts about June was how relaxing it was. A couple hours of classes, then the beach, dinner, playing backgammon.. The weekends were nice- usually we went on an excursion and just hung out even more. It was such a wonderful experience..
LA- I was more nervous going out to LA than I was about France! I had never been there before, I knew absolutely no one.. It was amazing- it made this summer the best of my life. My boss, Sonny, was the greatest boss/person I've ever met. He was laid-back and funny and really cared about the kids, and the counselors. All the people I met were great- I made great friends that I miss terribly. My girls were amazing and so cute and nice. I went to Disneyland, the Pacific ocean, and a Dodgers game. I just.. loved it. I didn't like the city so much, but being at USC gave everybody such SC pride. We would break into pools by night and sit in the lobby hanging out by day. A quote from the month book said "It's funny how a group of people can change your life forever." and it is so true. I love Katie, Trang, JT, Wilma...everyone.
And last, but definitely not least, Rob and I are together. We are not technically official (yet), but he's basically my boyfriend. Finally! The timing has never worked out before, but I am so happy that it is now. He is so amazing and I'm excited to see what the future holds for us :)
I can't wait to get back to school- only 12 more days! I can't wait to start my classes and get settled into my room and life at school.
I am loving my life right now. I am happy. So happy..
