My off-white blouse fabric dyed fantastically. The lace too. Perfect match, A+ would dye again!
My wizardry from this morning went... okay. I like that the taffeta kept its "shimmer". It's not black though, and the two pieces are not quite the same color. I did buy extra dye, so I'm going to shove them both in the pot on Wednesday boil the crap out of it for an hour and hope for the best. I only left each piece in for 30 minutes this first time, and they came out a dark green/copper color. Not too bad for the steampunk outfit, but I really would like it to be closer to black.
When I was dismantling the skirt, I had a really neat idea for what to do with it when I put it back together. I'm going to make a convertible skirt/bustle out of it with a bunch of hooks and eyes underneath. Hopefully I can get my hands on a dress form to barrow from my friend so I can drape this and see how it will work.
