My Entry on Evolution
This is gonna be a long endeavor. I have so many conflicting things I could say.
to start out with, I'll start with answering my own question:
I do not associate with a religion and at this moment in my life have no religious beliefs.
Evolution without question.

Dr. Cammer never mentioned it, and everyone's answers have been consistent with my belief that FCPS does not mandate that it be taught. I kinda hope to get info from other kids who were in other counties because I'm 90% sure that they still require that creationism be at least mentioned or even taught in biology classes in public schools.
Ok. I'll start with the catalyst for this experiment or whatever. I'll also stop trying to sound smart.
Earlier in the year, I found out my roommate doesn't believe in evolution. To be completely honest, I was mind-boggled. Is that a word? Doubtfully, but you get my point. I didn't say anything, though. Because I have very strong feelings on this subject as will later be revealed so I just tried to forget it. I have to say I'm a terrible person, though, because my opinion of her decreased as a result of her being able to believe that. I was surprised to find out that anyone still thought that way. I mean. I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised. But (as my poll only helped to show) TJ and Fairfax County in general are ... special? Different? As some people mentioned, there's an inherent respect for people who have THAT much faith. To disregard the facts? I mean. Congrats on the faith, but I cannot justify your opinion. It's scientific fact. Anyways, so that went away but for some reason last night I asked my best friend here if she believed in evolution because I wanted to ask her how she dealt with this proof that the bible was outright wrong at one point with the belief that it was all God's word. But I didn't get to ask that because she doesn't believe in it either. Seriously, I started crying because I couldn't comprehend it. She's just as smart as I am, how can she retain that belief? I started freaking out because what if everyone is like that? Do all really faithful people believe that? So I posted my poll, even though I know that most of us are from TJ and I don't think I have anyone on there not from Northern VA, so it doesn't get me a good cross-section. I should find a community to post it in.
