Timelines are funny. She's been trying to figure it out, but really it's just more fun to flip the switches on her ship and land somewhere... landing being the operative word since the first three non-landings were not as fun as she expected they would be.
Still they are rather random things. Dropping her off in places that have gold ribbons zipping through the skies as if carrying words of wisdom to other sides of the town. Or sending her to a future where her own ship is something not even allowed within their harsh and strict laws regarding the fuel that she utilizes. They weren't really worth her time anyway.
She wants to help though. Save lives, save planets even! Of course she's not her father, and hasn't been able to pull of anything spectacular save for putting out a fire in Tramble Three. Which saved just one person.
It was a start though! A fantastic start to what could eventually be something fantastic... something brilliant... why it'd be Spectacular!
Shutting her eyes she took a breath and opened them back up brightly to view the controls and bring up the screen. Her fingers danced along the flat panel watching small dots grow larger and adopt names along side them, then simply skirt away as her fingertip walked over to the next planet.
"Haa-liss." Her lips pouted out a bit thinking it over for a moment. "Why not!"

"Oh... this is why not," Jenny exclaimed to the man she'd just met a few hours into her stay at Haalis. Haalis was as a matter of fact the least populated place she'd ever seen. Just a small building in the middle of nowhere with three guys that probably lived there eyeing everyone in the place with an odd 'I know more than you' sort of gaze.
"Oh no... this is why we do it all," replied the man with the smile that Jenny was growing rather fond of.
"Why do we do it all?" she asked as her chin dropped down a bit to make her eyes seem even more innocent and doe-like. "Wait! What do we do? I mean... what do you do? I don't do much of anything. I put out a fire once. I put out a fire and I watched a world start anew."
Jenny looked back fondly at that memory. She'd wanted to see new worlds, he'd told her she'd see just that, and there in her father's arms she'd seen the very first one. A new world.
"That... is an excellent start, and an excellent question."
She nodded reassuringly and glanced at the list of drinks on the menu. They were barely drinks and she was having a lovely time, so why not try a number... forty-two 'all the answers' from the odd Gimbus line. She'd only had three of them so far and they were sort of timid according to her barside company.
"Oh well I'm 'bout to get all the answers. You just wait!" Jenny exclaimed wagging her finger at him. He smiled again and she had to smile in return. Honestly... how could anyone not smile when he smiled. He reminded her of her father a bit that way. That cheeky grin, that she knew she didn't quite have down just yet.
The vial came to her a moment later and she looked at the smokey drink. Literally smokey, like a lovely cloud at the top of the liquid. Just setting it to her lips she could at least taste that it wasn't smokey at all. It was more rich and inviting. Like the drink itself wanted her to know everything, it was asking her to drink it up, and so she did. She swallowed the drink down and beamed over at the man who still hadn't given her his name.
"I'm Jenny," she offered politely.
"Captain Jack Harkness," offered the man with the smile.
"Lovely," she replied, "It sounds almos- what's that?" Jenny had stood up and moved across the room to point at something. Jack swiveled in his chair to reply, but by then she was already across the room.
"What's this?"
Jack quirked an eyebrow up at the girl, more out of curiosity because he knew what the drink would do to her, but it still was sort of endearing to watch her buzz around the room asking a thousand questions all before waiting for 'all the answers' that should have come with them. She sort of reminded him of the Doctor in that way. Talking all the time but really never wanting an answer... or to have someone tell him he was wrong.
"Wait! What's this?" Jenny was off to the next thing and suddenly Jack's arms were around her trying to keep her still. "What's... this?"
"Shhh... this is to calm you down. We'll counter the Gimbus in a moment."
Then his mouth was to hers, and she felt her knees buckle a bit from the soft pressure. She'd have asked what that was, but that she actually knew the answer to. It was strong and not forceful, and it wasn't to steal her gun and press it to her stomach in an attempt to break him out of some jail cell either. When she breathed in deep she could smell him, and he smelled amazing. She wanted to ask what it was that made him smell so good to her, why did he smell different now than he had just sitting next to her.
Just who was this Captain Jack Harkness?
Her hearts were racing a bit beneath her chest and he'd sort of dipped her back a bit allowing her knees to weaken because he actually had hold of her... in those arms of his. Then he was pulling away from her and she fluttered her eyes open to meet his, and he had an odd look of familiarity to him.
"Who are you?" he asked her as if her own drink had lingered on her lips and now passed to him.
Eyebrows raised up a bit on her forehead as if she didn't quite understand what he meant, and plus the Gimbus wasn't helping, "What do you mean?"
"That... that was..."
"That was what?"
Then Jack shook his head and righted Jenny up onto her feet again, she was still in a slight daze from the kiss, leaning on Jack a bit more than she probably needed to, "Why am I clinging to you? What are you looking at? What? Is it.. me? I don't have anything on my face do I? What? Tell me what it is?"
Jack took her hand in his and off of his arm and led her to the bar, staring at her. Really looking at her more than he had been before.
"Say that again."
"Say what again?"
"That. Say 'What' again, but... more like you can't believe what you're seeing."
Jenny was confused. This man. This beautiful man with the smile and the charm and the kiss and the smell... was confusing her now.
"What!?"
"Oh God."
Furrowing her brow up in confusion more she shook her head, "Should I get this? Am I ever going to stop asking questions? God is it supposed to be like this when someone kisses you?"
"No. Oh no not at all, but you.. oh my dear... you are impossible."
Jenny smiled, "Don't you mean very unlikely?"
