(no subject)
Hi, I've been busy. After months of complaining about my job and the bullshit it entails, I had a job interview yesterday, an interview today, and I have one lined up for tomorrow morning. Crazy, happy times.
Today's interview is the only one outside the library system I currently work in -- the other positions would be inside promotions. But, anyway, today was fantastic. The guy doing the hiring told me that out of 177 applications, they picked seven people to interview and I was the first one he called because my resume was 'so impressive.' !!! Let me tell you right now, THIS IS MORE PRAISE THAN I HAVE EVER RECEIVED AT MY CURRENT JOB. Ever. The interview went smoothly, I think, and he told me he thought it went really well at the end. So...? Everyone they introduced me to was super nice. It seemed like everyone enjoyed working there. I think I want to work there. It would be a BIG shift in my career from public libraries to archival stuff, but I think, at this point, I'm down with that. I don't know. I should try not to get too excited.
Either way, I'm really proud of myself for taking a risk. And we'll see how tomorrow's interview goes. Crazy.
