Hopeful...

We had a really peaceful and much-needed weekend.

On Saturday I spent the morning watching Shasta play football at Cheeseman park, followed by a blissful couple of hours at a day spa getting a full body massage / sugar scrub and facial. Unfortunately on Sunday I was hit with a bizarre wave of fatigue - I did my yoga first thing in the morning, and was so tired I could barely walk up the stairs afterward. Went back to bed right away and didn’t get up until noon, when we got dressed and went downtown for a second round of wine tasting and cupcakes - we had a wonderful time even though the fatigue and headache wouldn’t go away. Ironically enough, when we arrived there was a group of women there setting up for a baby shower. :P All cute with blue “It’s a Boy!” balloons and at least half of the shower guests were also pregnant. I was green around the gills all afternoon. *grins*

Anyway, I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening crashed on the couch with absolutely no energy at all, which is not at all like me. If I didn’t know better I would have sworn I was already pregnant, heh.

Brightest spot of the weekend was the sweetest email from another couple who are currently pregnant with the same donor we’re using!!! That was super exciting, especially since apparently they got pregnant on the first try at home. A big boost of encouragement right when I needed it - our donor is good for home insems AND potent on the first try, so I think all we need to do is get the timing right. Now I’m extra excited to insem this month -- our swimmers should be arriving tomorrow so I’m all geared up for a second round.

I really think our timing must have been off last month. I wasted too much time waiting around for the smiley, when it’s evident that I ovulate very, very close to smiley. Maybe even right at or before, based on my body’s other signs. So this round we’re going to insem when all the physical signs line up - temp drop, EWCM, and cervical position - regardless of whether I’ve got the smiley yet or not. And, if the smiley comes late, we’ll do the second insem right at smiley.

If round two doesn’t work, I think we’re going to spring for 3 vials for round 3 to try and cover an even bigger window. Really, really keeping my fingers crossed for this one, though… would love to have a little April baby!

The grout guy finally called back and it turns out we’re going to have to patch the little holes in his work ourselves. I think we can do it, but it irks me that we paid him so much and he’s not willing to come back and fix the flaws for us. *sigh* Well, whatever. We’ll get it taken care of this week, hopefully, so that we can get our shower door in and finally get our bathroom FINISHED and useable again.

Also, we think one of our cats killed a bird in the backyard this weekend, though we never did find the body - just a fluff of feathers in the grass and a couple of kitties with guilty little feathers stuck to their whiskers. I’m still a bit worried that Tig’em brought the bird into the house and hid it, but I haven’t been able to find it yet. ^^;
