Vacation Planning
I have officially requested two days off the week after next -- the Thursday and Friday before Labor Day, which gives me five whole, glorious days of no-work.
Remember how last year Shasta and I were planning a mini vacation to Glenwood Springs that we had to cancel because of car problems? Well, we're going for it again. I'm feeling much more cheerful today now that I have a vacation to look forward to.
Vacation plan is as follows:
On Thursday morning we'll drive up I-70 and do the Hanging Lake hike, which I've wanted to do for years. We'll probably take a picnic lunch with us so we can eat at the lake before hiking back down.
Then we'll drive into Glenwood Springs and check into the Sunlight Mountain Inn B&B. On Friday we're going to do a horseback riding tour followed by a day spent at the hot springs pool.
Another night at the B&B, and on Saturday we'll head over to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park for a cave tour and some of their other fun stuff, and then we'll drive home.
Especially fantastic is that because I have Labor Day off, we'll have Sunday AND Monday to enjoy as a weekend after we get back! (Though that probably just means we'll be working on our fence project...)
Funny how life suddenly feels much more manageable once a vacation is on the horizon. :P
