Love is....

... when you and your Valentine pick out the exact same card for each other for Valentine's Day.

Seriously -- Shasta handed me her card on V-Day morning and I just about died laughing, since I'd gotten the same one for her! It was the most perfect card I could find, though, as it talks about how wonderful it is to be loved for exactly who you are, etc. And it's nice to know that all the things I wanted to say to her are the same things she's thinking too. *gringrin*

Anyway, we had a really lovely Valentine's Day -- most of it was spent printing out our wedding invitations. (Doesn't get much more romantic than that!) And then we went and had a delicious dinner at Mataam Fez, because Shasta had never been there before. I swear, every time I go the food seems to get better and better.

This weekend wasn't terribly relaxing, but I did get a lot done... for the first time in a couple years I updated my wardrobe -- bought three dresses, one skirt, one pair of pants, a stack of tops, a pair of gold sandals and a couple new sets of jewelry -- and then went through my closet to weed out all the things I don't wear anymore. It was a day-long project to go through every item of clothing I own and organize it, but I ended up with a big bag of clothes for the thrift store and a much neater closet. *gringrin*

We went to Giuseppe's in the Springs and met with the events coordinator, who showed us the room we'll be hosting our reception luncheon in. We finalized our reservations, gave her all the important info (like our wedding colors, so they can decorate for us) and picked out the menu we wanted. While we were down in the Springs we also stopped by my dad's house to say hi and drop off a Valentine's Day card for him -- he was sick so he only came outside to talk for a few minutes and insisted that we stay in the car, but he did give us each a box of chocolates, which was really sweet. ♥

Then I updated our wedsite with RSVP functions, printed off our invitations and tied them all with the little ribbons, and got all the invites except just a couple mailed out. I also mailed Shasta's ring back, too, so Titanium Era can remake it yet again, because they didn't size it properly when they returned it to us... *sigh*

As if that weren't enough, I also went to Joanns and picked up everything I need to make Layne's best-man-suit, and then made her yellow satin waistcoat. I just barely finished it before bedtime last night, so I'll take pictures of it soon... but I think it turned out nicely, and because the yellow satin is much stretchier than the white stuff Shasta's waistcoat is made of, it was a lot easier to put together, too. :P Now to make her pants and jacket... I'm hoping to get the pants finished this week so I can concentrate on the jacket for the next couple weekends.

So it's been a very busy weekend, and I also finally unloaded a bunch of pictures from my camera so I'll share those a little later. :)
