Layne was here over the weekend!! YAY!! :) :) We went to the Butterfly Pavilion, and walked around Boulder a little, went to First Friday and saw a comedy show by Jo Koy, and just generally hung out and talked a lot. 'Twas awesome. It was so good to see her again & just hang out! Also, we tried Shasta's suit on her so now I know what size to make for her, and I'm going to jump back in to sewing this week.

I must be getting old, though, because we were out until past 2 AM most nights and I still feel like I'm trying to catch back up on sleep... yesterday I shuffled into work rather zombie-like and got very little done. I need to get caught back up again, but it's hard to find the motivation. I think I've definitely got a bad case of the winter blues. Having Layne around helped, though, because she hadn't seen *real* snow before, so she was having a great time watching the snow fall and running around in it. :P But now she's gone and it is very, very cold, and for the last couple nights I have actually been dreaming about the the end of winter, and being able to put away my coat and gloves and break out some light, airy spring and summer clothes and go play in the grass.

Anyway, we didn't take nearly as many pictures while she was here as we should have, but I did get a few at the Butterfly Pavilion so I'll share those when I get the chance. In the meantime, here's a quick shot I got while hanging out in Boulder...

Shasta's Ring came back from Titanium Era... they redesigned the band for her and it's definitely more comfortable, but they made it the exact same size it was before. *sigh* I specifically told them, repeatedly, that I needed it to be smaller, as it falls off her finger at this size. So I have to send it back this week and ask them to do it again. They better not charge me for another remake, either, because they didn't do it right the first time.

I got my wedding band, too -- I went with this one:

It's white gold with little diamonds, and it's so thin and delicate that, even though it's not curved, it still fits snugly up against my e-ring. It's subtle, too, which is what I wanted; it lets my e-ring stand out the most and just sort of compliments it from the background (a lot of the other styles would have completely overpowered it and I didn't want that.) So yay! One more thing scratched off the wedding to-do list...

This weekend we have to go down to the Springs to finalize our reception reservations... and then I need to print and mail out our actual invitations and set up the RSVP page on our website. And, of course, sew some more. :P I can't believe the wedding's just three months away now!! O.o EEP! And, Valentine's Day is this weekend, and I don't know if Shasta and I will really have the time / energy to do much with it. We've promised we'll exchange massages, though. Oooooh, hot stones massage for me!!! I could really use one right now. :)

Anyway, in addition to that I have a whole stack of emails to reply to and my neighbor's website to work on, not to mention the piles of work I need to get done at work... and all I'm in the mood to do right now, to be perfectly honest, is to sleep. And also to shop (it's that weird time of year when I'm just dying to redo my wardrobe because, let's face it, my fashion sense is just awful.) But mostly to sleep. *sigh*

I did get my State tax refund already (DAMN they're fast) and so before I could spend it on anything else, I applied it to my credit card. Now I just need the bigger federal one to come in so I can pay off all the rest of this debt. It's hard to believe that I am about to be credit card free for the first time in... what, almost ten years or so? O.o I can't wait. I've come close over the past few years to getting it paid off but something always happened to set me back again... cosplay, travel, car emergencies, pet emergencies, moving, etc. For the first time in many, many years I will not have a monthly credit card payment, and I am sooooo looking forward to it. *happydance*
