Fanmix: like a candle in the wind - a Lily & Severus fanmix (Harry Potter)
I've been meaning to make a fanmix for ages, but I never really got around to it. However, for love_bingo I actually managed it :)
(Hopefully I also didn't miss any further differences between what I thought the song title was and what it actually was... I kept adding words from the lyrics)

The prompt "Candle in the Wind" made me constantly think about the song by Elton John and for some reason I also kept being drawn not only to Lily Potter, but Severus Snape and how he kept holding onto her memory until his own death.
In the end, I wanted to make a fanmix that showed their lives from the moment they met and became friends up to and beyond Lily's death. The ups and the downs so to speak. It's a friendship that defined who Severus Snape was even beyond it's end and Lily's death. That might not have been very visible to the outside world, but clearly influenced his decisions - from switching sides to protecting Harry.
The mix covers quite different genres and even decades and I hope that it still manages to fit well enough together!
