So I crochet, and here are some of my latest projects, finished and unfinished.
Remember this:
Now it looks like this: (it's going to be a tunic)
and here's who was poking around me while I was taking the picture:
Then I recently finished this: (a...scarf/shawl thing)
And these little lace pieces - I'm debating whether to make the white one into a collar for a dress I'm going to make, or just making a necklace that I can wear with whatever I want. The gold one is a head band, I'm going to either attach ties or an elastic hair band - so far I've bene lazy and just pinning it to my hair :)
And this is what's going to become the dress I previous mentioned:
I actually had plans to make it before I went to the US for Christmas in early December, but I forgot what I wanted to make! I couldn't remember how I wanted it done. So I finally laid it out and was mixing things around, trying to get the colors to flow together and FINALLY I got it the way I had envisioned! I took this picture for the exact purpose of not forgetting it, because I'd already forgotten it once! I actually saw a dress kind of like this at a department store, and it was affordable but I have boobs and most Japanese women don't so the seam between the top and the skirt of the dress was too high up and I looked pregnant. But the pattern for it was really easy and I figured I could just take some of my own clothes and trace them out and make my own version of it, with better fabric and better coloring for the same price. But I put off creating it for so long that I totally forgot, how horrible of me :( I can't tell you how much I rejoiced when I finally remembered today, 4 months later, lol
Actually I am still kind of not sure about this. I thought the skirt part was going to be all one color. But then the skirt and the top would be two different colors and that's lame. I think I actually have enough fabric to make the entire dress beige, and then like make sections of the top brown and checkered, but then I'd have way too much extra brown and checkered fabric, and the brown fabric was cut like exactly as how much I'd need to make the front and back of the skirt (the skirt has four panels). SO... I THINK this is how I had it, it looks pleasing enough to the eye. It's just hard to know... OMG I AM GOING TO PUT POCKETS ON THIS, yes.
Even if the skirt part has two different colors for the side and front/back panels, it'l be kind of cool, so maybe it'll be ok. It's been so long that even if I do screw it up and don't have enough extra fabric to fix it, I wont be able to buy any more because they don't carry it ^^;;; So wish me luck! m(_ _)m
