the perfect man
just finished watching one of hilary duff's movie, The Perfect Man and i was wondering, is there anything such as The Perfect Man?
i'd like to think so, cos i'm more than sure that i have found my perfect man in my husband.
most girls would say they want their prince charming to be tall, dark and handsome. some would also say he should be romantic, caring and wholesome. they might love him even more if he was humorous, pleasant and anything but cumbersome.
but, is this the perfect man for you?
it sounds all too good to be true - it can be if you can find such a man - but are you really looking for this kind of person to love and love you in return? and if you are, is that man looking for the same qualities in his woman? and so, if he is, are you that perfect in his eyes as well? perfect that you're petite, fair and beautiful? that you're just as a romantic, a caring and wholesome person? and that you have a sense of humor, is pleasant to be with and is definitely anything but cumbersome?
i would say that the perfect man for a woman is one that completes her, likewise for the perfect woman for a man. in this way, wouldn't it be the cliched 2 becomes 1 or you complete me term, which is what everyone use in most of their love poems, songs and etc?
as i was saying, i found the perfect man in my husband. not because he's tall, dark and handsome; or that he's romantic, caring and wholesome; or because he's humorous, pleasant and anything but cumbersome.
i mean, he isn't very tall for a guy, but he's taller than me. he's not dark, but not too fair either. he is good-looking, but never as pretty and handsome as those in fairytales. he's not a romantic but he showers me with surprises when i least expect it (think out the box). he is definitely caring, although sometimes he just turns a deaf ear when he's too engrossed in his games. he is a wholesome figure now, after he's over the rebellious teenage years and all the ex-girlfriends, ex-lovers. he is definitely humorous, to a point of being sacarstic at times of annoyment. he is pleasant without a doubt and would always find a way to everyone's heart, that i can't deny makes me jealous sometimes. and he is cumbersome at times, that i have to admit.
so why do i say he's the perfect man for me?
1/ i don't have to strain my neck too much when i want to kiss him
2/ it's good to know that we are both not very into outdoor sports or much of a sun-lover
3/ i don't have to worry that other girls would want to snatch him away from me cos he's only good-looking, haha, and not price charming handsome :P
4/ practical surprises are endless and never fails to not only amuse me at times but it can also increase my knowledge of things surrouding the world! romance to me has a short life span (how far can it go? jewellery, flowers, chocolates or a new dress at most).
5/ i get pre-occupied when i'm either watching tv shows, reading the papers, typing out my blog or talking. haha, yes, i can get pretty occupied by talking that i won't even know you're talking to me. haha.
6/ i have a temper that would erupt like a dormant volcano, and he is one that can help prevent the eruption :)
7/ he makes me so happy at times that i just want to cry, so that i can tease him back when he starts to worry as to what made me cry, and go HAHAHA! all in the name of FUN! :P
8/ he makes me want to nice, and gives me tips on how to be naughty, sacarstic and sharp. isn't it just pleasantly great that we're both encouraging each other to have the best of both worlds, be it good or evil? haha.
9/ only through the good times and bad times, would you know if a man would stand by you regardless of what may happened. yes, even if it's to make him run down or drive out to help you buy something to eat or play with cos you're just too lazy to move an inch. or to let you try something really delicious and frightening at the same time to help you get over your fear (frogs!), with you pouting and whining the whole time.
10/ i can act like a small kid who just learnt how to talk and get away with it cos he'll play along too. or act like some professional in something and fall flat on my face in embarassment and he'll be there to laugh it all off for me, or was it at me? hmm..
11/ and most importantly, he never ever shouts at me. he reasons with me when i do something wrong, gives me time to cool off before comforting me and offer a helping hand, listens to me when i talk and doesn't look down on me just because i'm 12 years younger but respects me as an individual, as a woman.
now, tell me, is he the perfect man for me or is he the perfect man for me!
well, bless all those out there who have found and is with your partner in life, as for those who are looking for and/or waiting for your own special and customized perfect man to come along in life, just remember this, as i have told many others before, there is one special person meant for you in this lifetime, you just got to look into the right corners of this earth or wait at the right corners for him to come along :P
