Dream [011] ☼

Sunlight streamed through the trees, bathing the porch in light. The warmth made the air heavy-contentedly, peacefully-and the quiet was broken only by the simple strumming of a guitar.

And then, not long after a few notes are left to hang in the hazy air, a voice-untrained, but pleasant enough-joined the notes, Spanish intertwining easily with the strums of the guitar.

“Me encantan tomates

Y también plátanos

Mucha comida para nosotros

Vamos a comerlos~”

Spain grinned to himself, eyes closed, leaning back against the wall of his house, the picture of contentedness. It didn’t seem to take him any effort at all to play the instrument, and he seemed to be making the song up as he went along.

“Hace calor y no hay problemas-

Pero…no hay muchos.

Es como un perrito

Cuándo no- Romanito~”

He cut the song off when he saw the young boy and beamed. “Were you listening?”

The little child, caught, blushed and pouted. “I was-But not because I wanted to, or anything! You were just being too loud!”

And Spain laughed good-naturedly and waved for the child to join him. Romano did, sitting next to him with perhaps less hesitation than would have been expected from his prior words, and Spain smiled down at him fondly.

“Do you want to hear a song?”

After a moment’s hesitation, Romano nodded. And it was with a grin that Spain reached for his guitar again.

--

[He does wake up, surprisingly enough. And his smile is both fond and a bit melancholic as he shakes his head and turns off the Dreamberry, hardly noticing the blue light it is emitting.]
