Notes: ~400 words. Written for
Snupin100's "dance" challenge - 4 drabbles, 100 words each except the last, which is a slightly expanded version from what was posted on the community. Elenalink and I consider this part of
triumvirate's canon, although these were written to be read independently. Feedback/comments/concrit/squee warmly welcomed.

The exceedingly long day was written into every angle of Severus' body. Drooping head, restless working jaw...
The war was over and, still, Severus soldiered. Battling mindless dunderheads. He wrote “T!” and wondered why he was still here.
Then he looked up, and remembered.
"Severuuus..." an infuriating sing-song voice, shining smile, wicked spark behind eyes that sent his blood south.
"What-?" He was swept up, hands captured by rough, warm ones, and pulled into strong arms.
Remus grinned, kicked out his hip, spun Severus around. "Let's dance."
Severus' lip quirked, and the day dissolved in a haze of tangled feet.

On their backs, rolling over and under each other, sheets slithering to the floor, the dance continued. Tongues tapped along one another, fingers twizzled over bumps and planes, twirled in chest hair and tumbled along spinal ridges.
Remus was breathless, still in the lead, gliding in and out of Severus in a pasa doble of touch and taste. He dipped low to claim those thin lips again, hold them as they shimmied in delight, Severus' body writhing.
Another stutter-step forward and Remus flew, darts and turns abandoned for sure arms catching him, pulling him down to nestle into perfect silence.

There was always a moment, right before Severus slept, when the slightest motion, the softest sigh, could jerk him awake for an hour of stubborn refusal to toss or turn.
Remus felt it come while sweat still clung to their necks. Head tucked in the crook of his lover's arm, he went still as stone, holding his breath.
A second ticked, Severus' brow twitched, his lips fell open in a silent release, and Remus exhaled.
For the third time that night, he gave into desire, lulling himself to sleep with his fingertips, dancing a ballet against familiar skin and bone.

"Lupin!" Severus stalked up to Remus the next day in a forgotten corridor, eyes glinting dangerously. "You took considerable advantage of my good nature last night," the Potions master said, folding his arms over his chest.
Remus' rough baritone rumbled through him, the laughter causing Severus to stand ramrod straight, indignance written in the very lines of his face. "Severus, I would be happy to allow you to take advantage of my good nature tonight." Scarred fingers made a slow trail down the front of black robes. "I can be very, very good, Severus."
A raised eyebrow, a knowing smile in return, a body brushed as one man billows past the other - the dance begins again.
