I was picking up my sister today from school, and while we were heading out, slowed down by traffic, we witnessed a young man get hit by a car, flip, and fall on his arm. He couldn’t move his body off of the ground, so a few people surrounded him and called 911; he was screaming a bit and telling them how he couldn’t move. In the middle of all this, my sister and I were dumbfounded and not moving for a few seconds. There were other people who witnessed it, so we left eventually; (also because I had to get back to work). The driver who hit the boy was a boy himself, and there was basically no expression on his face; neither on his friends’ faces in the car with him. They probably didn’t know how to display it, but it was eerie. It seemed as if they took it as any other game; like a Nintendo or whatever is the latest violent video game. I also thought about how the victim’s parents would react. I know how my mother reacted when I told her about that minor accident i had a week ago. I can’t imagine how being hit would affect the parents. I don’t quite know who’s at fault here, but I assume that the driver wasn’t paying attention, because it was in a slow traffic that he just bumped into the boy. I just hope everyone involved gets out of it without too much harm.

This is probably a wake up call from God to me (with 2 accidents in two weeks)...
