A lot of words could be applied to Captain John; mendacious, supercilious and (his personal favourite) resplendent bastard, but mercurial was not one of them.
He might be obsequious and quixotic where Jack was considered, some would say obsessed, but they would be partners again, in every way.
'I found Gray.'
As the golden light of the rift surrounded John, he told a little lie. A bit of skullduggery never hurt when dealing with an ex.
Let Jack have his precious, little planet and his team of children. Once John found Gray, Jack's world would never be the same.
