Ianto looked over at the sleeping figure; her eyes were closed. She was wrapped in thick white blankets that made her look like a sleeping child. The large machines that filled the room reminded Ianto of all those days he spent trying to save the human part of Lisa. Looking back, he wondered if there had ever been anything left of his Lisa to save.
There was so much Ianto wanted to say, but all he could do was watch her chest rise and fall.
Ianto held the shriveled hand of Lisa's mother, until her next breath became her last.
