[Rose looks a little on edge. Partially because she's waiting for the same thing to happen as everyone else that's posted so far. She's actually just hoping to get it over with. It might be worse if she waits!]

So there've been a few returns in with the new arrivals this month. It's probably the thing here that makes me think it's got to be random ( Read more... )

feeling like an idiot (again), don't ask her to explain, barbossa, full of thoughts, flood

What nonsense. Destroying Daleks is something you should be proud of.

I ain't gonna be proud of killing nothing even when it's necessary, Rassilon.

And this is why I say you will never truly understand... Being compassionate towards Daleks is foolish. Destroying them is a necessity. And killing the Emperor himself is quite a feat, I must say.

I've seen enough of the Daleks to know how dangerous they are. Believe me. But I've also seen them evolve, I've seen them go mad and suffer, and I've seen them not want to kill.

The Emperor had to die. But I still ain't proud of it.

No, Rassilon. I don't think you understand. Who am I to know? Maybe living as long as you have makes you take it for granted.

Killing is killing. No matter who or what it is.

...Really? But it wasn't a natural change was it? Not something that would suddenly happen to the whole species -- which means, either they die or everything else does, because the Daleks as a species are never going to stop. They were created to kill.

I understand perfectly. But you, you are just a little girl.

Besides, killing them would only be a problem if their life were worth anything. But it isn't. They're worth nothing. Slaves to time, just like the rest of the universe... The Time Lords are the only ones who can truly break those chains.

First off, if you wanna boast "natural" change and rightness, as a Time Lord?

Then take back regenerations.

...What's wrong with regenerations? And I never boasted. I simply said the change you observed was most likely a fluke, nothing that would happen to the whole or at least the majority of the species. It therefore does not change the situation in any significant way.

Doesn't mean that it couldn't. If they could suddenly develop religion, anything's possible.

Daleks developed religion? They're becoming even worse.

The Emperor was completely mad when the Doctor and I encountered him -- it -- I don't even know anymore. The other Daleks assigned a gender to him; it was bizarre.

...Pitiful. You might even think you did them a favour. But then again, isn't the Dalek's very nature pitiful? Created for to destroy everything else, the tools of a madman who wants to become a god, unable to truly experience life. Destroying them is being merciful.

I've had my share of mercy killings too, in the last year. Still don't mean I'm proud to do it.

You did? How unexpected, Miss Tyler.

The first one I met. It couldn't die without orders.

I see. But you didn't kill it; you allowed it to die, as was its wish.

It still felt horrible.
